Well, I did it; and I'm glad I did. I've got about 2" more right leg room and it feels so much better. It doesn't interfere with the throttle pedal range at all. I shaved 1" from the bottom of the pedal. Now it feels right. I slid the seat back 2" and the clutch and brake pedal relationship as well ...

Accellerator Mod

Well, for you guys n gals that think the relationship between the accellerator pedal on the Miata's are just wrong, there is a fix. I can't remember how my '97 pedal assembly bolted on but I do know how the pedal on my NC bolts on. I found a mod on the MX5 Miata. net Forum that is truly worth a shot...

Looks like it makes a 1 mph diff at 60 mph. Not bad at all. They also ride waaayyy smoother. Maybe a tad less traction in the rear. I haven't figured it out whether it's the tires or my aggressive driving quite yet. Guess I'll have to carve the hills and check it out. They are also a lot quieter

Well, I talked to my tech at Japanese Auto and he advised me to check the tire pressure after leaving Discount Tire. He says they tend to overinflate tires when installing them. Sure enough the tire pressure was 40 psi. The MX5 door tag calls for 29 psi max. I left the tires at 30 psi and it made a ...

I just bought the Continental Xtreme DSW's and they feel good already. I still seem to have this wandering feeling. With the new tires it now feels like it's coming from the rear of the car  Guess i'll take it to an alighment shop and see what they find. I'll get to the bottom of this (and...

I think I've made up my mind to go with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. They have outstanding ratings in all categories. Discount tire has them at $138. each...total of $675. or if bought by this Saturday their $100. off, so they're $575. total. I had the Extreme Contacts on my RX8 (not t...

I just had the tires checked and balanced a couple days after I bought the car. One rim had a flat spot on it so I put it on the right rear. I just noticed the "dive" again this morning. I can't figure it out. Guess it's time to put it on a lift and check it thoroughly or get new tires sooner than I...

Well, I had the front end aligned today. Tech said it was in spec but I told him to go ahead and make it perfect...which he did. It didn't make much difference though. When he got it up on the rack I could get a good look at my front tires. They are about 40-50 % with some outside wear. He says once...

Not sure what it costs to rent one of Dan's RX8's, but that sure would be a great day at the track. My RX8 was a kick in the butt, I can imagine what Dan's would be like. You really won't get anywhere with that kind of money. If there's any left over, go with the K&N. It helped my NA a little when I...

Yeah, it's a sweet ride. I've taken two trips of about 180 miles and initial readings show 29+ mpg with mixed hiway/street driving. Now that is awesome. I thought my RX8 was good at 20-22 MPG. And yeah coloskydiver, the PRHT is a kick and waaayyy simple. Learjet, my right rear wheel has a flat spot ...

Air pressure/lug nuts, etc are good. No TPMS issues. Tires about 60%. Only 25K on the car. I wouldn't think bushings or struts yet. I've got an appt tomorrow at 11am for an alighment. We'll see what comes of it. I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the input and ideas. :D

Hello again Dan...Thanks I paid particular attention to it a few minutes ago on a trip up I-25. It tends to drift to the right from time to time also. Think I'll have the alighment checked after all.
