Was there anything else you didn't like about it? Atleast when I evaluated it, my impression was that it was quite powerful, but almost the wrong tool if all you wanted was basic compression numbers. It seemed to me that it was more of a comprehensive diagnostic tool. At the time, all the system re...

I'd be interested to know if they improved their software any from when I trialed it 3 years ago. I found having to calculate the RPM off of the provided graph to be an annoyance.

In the past, it was because the gas pedal could travel significantly past the WOT point and over extend the cable. It seemed like the owner couldn't figure out how to bolt a block of wood to the car to limit the pedal travel. For the event I'm thinking of, the cable was rubbing somewhere (unprotecte...

Wanted to mention that the green BMW 2002 is for sale. It is in the 8K range though. The thing is built sturdy and is competitive in the X class. I rode with the guy last time I was out. Did not disappoint at all. "built study" isn't exactly how I'd describe Shrek when snapping three throttle cable...

We've got a course layout figured out. The course area is pretty small, we are working with what we've been given, I'd personally like to use the entire site, but then there'd be no show :) Hmm, I'm thinking like 20 second range. Again, area limitation. I view it similar to a beer taster at a pub. Y...

So, its kinda gonna be more like a carnival ride (at-least that's how I view it). Somewhere there will be a ticket booth where you can get tickets, and then you come over to the autocross to use them. According to my notes, 4 runs for $20 or $7 each. You may need to be a car show participant to buy ...

I was asking because I've wondered about having one housing's compression pushing back causing a false reading on the rotor being tested. I've never heard that concern in relation to compression testing rotary or piston engines. Again, the spec for minimum pressure is based on the starter turning t...

That's not a bad price. I'm gonna have to get one. Do you take out the spark plug on both rotors when you do it, or just one? I take both of them out. I usually take one spark plug out of the front rotor, run the test, replace the spark plug, then take a spark plug out of the rear rotor and test. H...

Thanks for the heads up! I might have to jump on that. It only does one rotor at a time, right? Yep. It has one sensor that you plug into a spark plug hole, and then it displays the PSI on each face, and the cranking RPM until you turn it off or run a new test. So remove spark plug, put the tester ...

So, the Twisted Rotors compression testers are back (sort of). The guy behind TR has been making 5 testers a week, and then selling them online for $350 + $20 shipping every Friday at 5pm CST (aka 4pm here). The first 3 rounds of this had the testers selling out within minutes, but the batch that st...

Do you do this every year? I really would like to do it but I'm not going to be able to swing it this year. This is basically the inaugural year of the program. Based on what I've been hearing from other regions around the country which have already hosted theirs, the program is better than expecte...
