Re: Build thread

Maybe I missed it in the threads, are you monitoring brake line pressures and wheel speeds? or just tuning by feel?

Re: The new 4Runner

That looks great! I like the aggressive rake that it has.

Re: The Ẽfini 7

Holy shit, that's crazy! Very impressive. I was always afraid of premixing because I thought I'd forget, but it's not that bad. Why do you want to do OMP again? I wouldn't mind having the OMP, but I like not having the extra tank in the engine bay too and having a little simpler setup. Mostly I jus...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

It F*cking works!! My brother spent some time tweaking and altering the cobbled together code and merged it onto a single controller. He got it working so smooth and fast that we had to add delays into the code to allow the motor to catch up!! Now I'm just waiting for the NANO to get here so I can c...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

Little bit of progress today. The OMP is now stepping to the setpoints I give it, and I have mapped out a load signal from my ECU to a controller. However I can't get my PWM reading code to play along nice with my OMP control code making me use two controllers. One to read the ECU and the other to s...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

Frustrated with the lack of support for integrating the OMP control I decided to build my own so I can have OMP control, feedback, and safety. Got it started last night by getting my brother to help me write some basic control code for an Arduino to drive the stepper and compare with the pot. Then I...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

The frequency of the 13b is well documented at around 3.5khz. It is easy enough to find, just hook the knock sensor to a scope and give the engine a whack with something. I'm reading the engine resonance well with the stock sensor, I just have to scale the threshold of volume to what is actually kno...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

That is a good idea, do you have a good source for mica sheets? It's just a pain to get to for mock up and bracket design when you daily the car. Tonight I got the VSS at the ECU sorted out. I had it pinned to a 12v input, it turns out the VSS is a 5v signal. So many rookie mistakes! But it's coming...

Re: Build thread

I also only pull about 30cm/hg at idle. Maybe altitude? I also idle at 750rpm where I see so many idling at 1000+. I might try bumping my idle and see what it pulls. Also were those results from the same tester that Kevin used and said his motor was borked? Your hood touches your TB and UIM? Even wi...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

I didn't even consider the stock location. Not sure why other than access kinda sucks. That should work fine though. I just always see them mounted on the inner fender well where my car has the ABS servo. I wonder if there is just a group of guys that strip every vortech and LS as soon as they come ...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

I've been driving it to work for the past week on my conservative tune. All good so far, the turbos are super laggy below 3k rpm so something is still wrong with my sequential setup. I'm thinking I might have the pre-spool on/off reversed. A while back I picked up a set of logic coils from a GM 5.3 ...

Re: The Ẽfini 7

Installed the knock module conditioner tonight as well as wiring up the new ECU to control the AC as I've been tuning without it till now and it's getting hawt out! Car is running great and I'm finally getting into a little boost and getting the tables straightened out on the Speed density tune. I w...

Re: New Garage, new plans

That is pretty clever ladder storage Huz! I haven't got to do much to my new garage yet, I did get the openers installed and working, the track on the larger door needs a little tweaking to be smooth and silent like the small door but its close. I am loving the high lift tracks and the wall mount op...

Re: Build thread

Is it just the catch can symptoms that lead you to believe there could be compression issues? Would a leak down test give a more comprehensive result?

As soon as I'm done tiling the house brakes and sway bars are at the top of my list. What brakes are you using?

Re: The Ẽfini 7

The tune is going well. Some small setbacks due to using the stock crank sensors. I'm trying to filter the noise out but they get wacky when hot and cause sync issues, mostly during hot start. I received my latest purchase for it this week and hopefully will be installing this weekend. It's a 2 chan...
