Re: Build thread

I drove the car for a couple hours Saturday to see if I could get it to make the knocking noise again, and it took a couple hours but it did start doing it. I was out at Helen Hunt Falls at the time so I just reached up and felt the fuel lines and it felt like they would vibrate along with the noise...

Re: Build thread

I've been messing with the AC the last couple days but now it's not cooling at all. I asked another buddy and he said because I didn't flush the compressor before using it, the oil that was in there didn't mix well with the ester oil and caused the compressor to fail again. I did drain the oil out, ...

Re: Build thread

Water injection still isn't working, the relay is still clicking like crazy. I've installed a new relay, no luck. I've checked all the wiring except for the one from the relay to the pump, but it's working part of the time and spraying water so I don't think it would be due to that. I can't imagine ...

Re: Build thread

I asked the company if they tested the compressor before shipping it out and they said they did. I jumped 12v straight to the harness that goes to the compressor and it didn't work. I removed the harness and did a continuity check and it was good. That left one thing, aside from maybe the clutch. ht...

Re: Build thread

I pulled another vacuum on the AC for a couple hours tonight, and after I shut it off and closed the valves, it held for about an hour. I started charging and realized I forgot to see if I still had the issue with it coming on right away. I disconnected the connector to the pressure switch and the c...

Re: Build thread

I got the relays in the mail today but haven't tried one yet, due to being busy with the AC system. I reinstalled the AC system and have been pulling a vacuum on it for the last few hours. I'm letting it hold vacuum for a bit right now to see how it does. I'll pull another vacuum tomorrow night and ...

Re: I bought another thing, ‘68 Mustang

That is awesome! Looks like it's in really good shape from the pics. I always liked this style over the fastbacks.

Re: Build thread

Good news! I drove the car tonight without the water injection pump relay and I didn't have the rattling noise. So good to finally know what it was. Now I just hope the problem was the relay itself and not something with the ECU not feeding it enough power.

Re: Build thread

I contacted SPA about the gauge issue and they sent it to the UK office but they haven't heard back yet. I changed the settings in the gauge on what type of sensors I'm using, but it didn't make a difference. So that will be an ongoing thing for the moment anyway. I bought a AC flush kit on Amazon, ...

Re: Build thread

I stand corrected. Something isn't quite right with the temp sensors. The water temp gauge is reading much lower than the app, and the oil temp gauge is reading much higher than the app. I've seen differences of about 15 degrees while driving. Really strange that they're so much different and in opp...

Re: Build thread

Well, I'm an idiot. LOL I forgot I had disconnected the brake booster hose to do the work on the oil filter pedestal. I was messing with the MAP sensor and the open hole sucked my finger into it, otherwise I would have never noticed it LOL. All is well again. I'm even more impressed with the Syvecs ...

Re: Build thread

Oh I sure have been lol. I've done a lot over the last three days. I finally got that titanium nut for the strut bar so I put that on, and I realized the nuts on the opposite side weren't that tight either. OOPS. I got the new window switch from Ray Crowe today, after being delayed about three days ...

Re: Build thread

I didn't post pics of the fans last time, but I guess they don't look all that much different than the FD fans. They're black instead of white, and one has more blades. The motors pull less amps, the blades are more efficient at cooling, and they're quieter (not that that really matters to me). http...

Re: Build thread

So far the car feels good with the original rear swaybar on, but I haven't actually pushed it that hard either. I was messing with the passenger window switch yesterday, cleaning the contacts to see if it would speed up the window any, and I broke the tabs holding it in, so I guess I'll be getting a...

Re: Build thread

I swapped my original rear sway bar back in today after Andy removed it from his car and I gave him his 93 bar back. I think the 93 bar is 17mm roughly and the 94 is 16mm, but Andy said it is about half as stiff. Racing Beat's website says the 94 bar is 14mm, but I measured mine today and it's defin...
