Re: Front 4 Club
So here's what my build would just about look like if I bought everything but the car brand new right now. ***NOTE*** - Prices vary due to sales and other things. I got my Konis for less, for example. These are rough estimates based on looking just now. You can also find much of this used. And if yo...

Re: Front 4 Club
I encourage everyone to come see what this is all about, especially Miata drivers ;) (I say that in jest, because for one thing, I think Miatas are great cars, but also, they sure like to tease FWD guys about being slow...) Come down to the PPIR Time Attack practice this weekend! As for why FWD, wel...

Re: Front 4 Club
That would be a great platform for the class! One of our new drivers has a DX coupe actually. He's doing a VTEC head swap from a D16Y8 (1996-2000 Civic EX) to get closer to the power level of a B18. And that generation of Civic can bolt on the trailing arms from an Integra for a quick disk brake con...

Front 4 Club
Not sure anyone aside from Saul and myself will be interested in this, but I wanted to put it out there anyway, as I'm excited to be a part of something that's going to be really cool: A new race group dedicated to naturally aspirated, front wheel drive, 4-cylinder cars. https://front4club.wixsite.c...

Re: 1967 Mercury Cougar
Out of curiosity, do you have a manual (cable) choke? If so, is there anything special you need to do to get it to work? And is it required on cold start even in relatively warm weather? My dad's '68 F100 has one, and I'm not convinced it works properly. He seems reluctant to switch to a modern elec...

Could you not get shorter springs? I've always heard that cutting springs is a terrible idea because it hoses ride quality. But that might just be for modern cars with progressive spring rates.

Re: 1998 Volvo V70 AWD
That wagon reminds me of something cool I read recently about a British Touring Car Championship team "cheating" the rules in the 90s to make their Volvos have some of the most powerful engines in the class. https://www.facebook.com/STAVTECH/posts/882994995210357 Another of the wild ways r...

Re: Project: Integra
Got a bit of work done on the front suspension over the weekend. It wasn't long before I realized that I need to pull the axles before I can go any further. That's because they're right over the top of the radius rods, making it impossible to get the rods out (no room for a socket). You can kinda se...

Re: Project: Integra
So I started working on putting the new belt in and decided I'm going to try to make the fixed bracket work. That's because the modified bracket my friend has doesn't have a mounting point for the passenger-side lap belt. He bolted it through the floor (pretty common practice for race cars as long a...

Re: Project: Integra
I've seriously thought about that, but decided against it because of two things: Primarily cost (decent B18C1s still go for around $1500 IIRC, I'd sooner sell the car and get a GS-R), but also the fact that they aren't really ideal for autocross and tighter tracks. That being because of lack of torq...

Re: Project: Integra
Finally motivated to get back on this after attending the awards banquet for the PPIR Time Attack series. I won a $50 gift card to Summit at the banquet, so I bought this , and the ball joints I need for the steering knuckles. My friend is giving me his stock seat rail modified for L bracket mountin...

Re: 1967 Mercury Cougar
If you want a cheap rear end upgrade, you could swap in an 8.8 from an Exploder. LSD (potentially), disk brakes, 31-spline axles. Looks like they'll bolt in with minimal modification.
