Re: Build thread

I heard from three people that the connector on the harness doesn't plug into anything, so I finished installing the front harness. I had to unwrap the harness and lengthen the wiring for the relay in the front as much as possible because it's contacting the core support. I ran into an issue with th...

Re: Build thread

I bought a 12v fuel pressure sensor on Amazon because that's pretty much the only place I could find one. And the only proof I have that it's 12v is that it's burned into the metal along with '100psi', and that's what the description said. I'm thinking maybe I should just change the engine harness t...

Re: Build thread

I finished the wiring harness aside from the one speedo wire still, and I have to add the connectors for the relay box once the dash is back in. The coil connectors were the worst, because they were the only ones that assembled reverse of the others, so you have to run the wires through first, then ...

Re: Build thread

I have the wiring harness almost all the way finished. I need to add the injector connectors, there are a couple other connectors that I keep breaking the terminals so I have some of those on the way, the turbo speed sensor connector was broken before I even put it on so that replacement is on the w...

Re: Build thread

I've been doing a lot of work on the engine harness, it's almost finished. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52815223032_487c6a83ed_k.jpg 20230411_230253 by Eric Jausel , on Flickr I got the new front harness today, so once I move some wires and remove some others, and swap a couple connectors, I'...

Re: Build thread

I got all the splices on the engine harness crimped, soldered, and covered with heat shrink. Now I just need to add heat shrink to the whole harness, add the labels, and terminate.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about the brake lines.

Re: Build thread

This brake line is kicking my ass! I bought a new die set from Eastwood for the brake line flare tool in the hopes that was the issue. Apparently not. I'm at wit's end. I made three more lines tonight and they all leak. I even made one that was just a straight shot because I thought maybe the compli...

Re: Build thread

I got all but one fuel line built this weekend and finished the last one last night after getting the fitting I needed. For the rear lines, I bought some olives so I could reuse the fittings, but apparently they aren't compatible because I absolutely wrecked one of them haha. Luckily I had bought a ...

Re: Build thread

The car REALLY kicked my ass today. I put the brake master cylinder and lines in anyway. I bench bled the MC, as much as possible anyway, then put it all in and started bleeding the rear brakes. I'm not sure if they're actually bled very well, because I noticed at one point that the tee fitting for ...

Re: Build thread

I got the fittings for the fuel filter and put them on a couple days ago, and I thought I could use the lines I had but one is a bit too long (I was still able to get it to work) and the other is just too short. Luckily I can reuse the Fragola fittings so I just ordered some new olives for them and ...

Re: Build thread

I've received a few more parts recently, including the injectors and fuel filter. The injectors and fuel rail was an easy win, at least the first night, since I didn't notice an issue I was having until the next night. But first, a comparison of the injectors. Really the injectors are the same size,...

Re: Build thread

I decided to tackle the coolant leak. I noticed the clamp on the engine end was a little loose, DOH! But I had already started the project to swap to a hard line. I looked at hundreds of cars in the salvage yard this past weekend for a hard line that would work, but realized that it must be a rotary...

Re: Build thread

I ordered a ProMeth PM75 water meth pump from Redline Race Parts. This one has a built in pressure relief so I can run it all the time without worrying about damaging the system. I got the solid state relay from Haltech for the water meth injection solenoid. Still thinking about possibly getting a d...

Re: Build thread

These things took longer than I expected, but it needed to be done. Now I won't have to pull the whole sensor cable if one of them dies. The one that is shrink wrapped is for the air temp coming into the turbo, but I'm going to install a bung in the IC pipe from the turbo to IC, and it's going over ...

Re: Build thread

Things have gotten a little out of hand, but hear me out...lol https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52694098613_ab4080fc08_k.jpg 2023-02-16_08-52-49 by Eric Jausel , on Flickr I decided to remake the long line that runs across the engine bay so I could bend the ends a little closer to the corner of t...
