OK, I remember when they were first getting popular.

I do like the Cords, wasn't aware they had a fwd! I have a 29 (Ford), and no, I didn't buy it new!:o

Years ago....mid to late 70's. Monogram or Revell had a transparent model of the rotory (also had a V-8 kit). It was a rather large scale and I think an electric motor spun the engine and the spark plugs flashed. I built one for my high school auto shop, along with a "cutaway" (one chamber) of the r...

Some of those almost have to be staged! I remember when FWD was "new" to the states and we saw the traction tires mounted on the rears.

I think you are over engineering/thinking the project. Mock up the parts that you think would look/work right. It the bar/beam needs to be 6" diam, then you look for really thin tubing. If is going to be 3/4, you may have to search to expensive stuff to do the job you're asking it to. Chromoly is hi...

Why 4130? It is a rated structural tube recipie. Why not simple mild steel? Back to the forces, is 4130 needed? Tube service; 303-321-9200 is where I get my DOM. They may have 4130.

I didn't say I could weld it, just that my plasma is able to cut it. Argon, gas cup and preheat I can handle, heated welding chamber for flooded argon, not at this time. Funny you didn't inquire about welding gold...

Still digging STR (no turbos). But a friend with a S2000 in B stock, is considering supercharging his Honda and running SSR or something after next year's summer series. When he does, I'll probably turbo the Miata and run some slicks on the 15x9's in the same class. He and I ran our first event in t...

Shadow, S2K's are double a-arm up front, multi-link rear. Basically a Miata just, you know, for guys. *gives Ecam a questioning look* I was unaware the S2000 had double A arms. Enough of them have been through my garage, that I should be a certified Honda wrench by now. As far as my masculinity...I...

Given a curb weight of 2800lb (m=w/g=2800lb/32.2 ft/s^2=86.96lbxs^2/ft) and a skid pad rating of 0.99g (S2000 CR test by Road and Track) Force = mass x acceleration. a=32.2*.99=31.88), I would calculate the sideways force acting on the car to max out at 2772 lb. Yes G force and car weight are numbe...

Years ago, I remember when front wheel drive and flush wheels where new. Many of the RWD guys were trying to figure out how to use these "new" wheels on their rides. Some came up with mega spacers/adaptors to run the flush wheels!

I'm with you, I tend to like some "dish" to my wheels.

Those joints that I have are 3/4! The do make many sizes, but I think you should look at clevis's (not sure if LH thread is available). Simple and lighter. You don't need the bearing, just the joint. Chromoly and steel often have advantages over aluminum, in some applications even weight to strength...
