Re: Build thread
I've definitely had my share of seized bolts, so I feel your frustration. Stripped threads piss me off more though. I'm surprised you didn't grind the nut off and then use a bfh to entice it out. From looking at your pictures, your subframe does not appear too damaged. Those mounts are made of thin ...

Re: Build thread
Sorry about your struggle with the test. If you're talking about course 14, then I hear the new version is a royal pita to pass. Miracles do happen though....so I hope you pass.
Nice conceptual design with the wheel. It'll be interesting to know how much the CNC costs will be with all those details.

If he can't make it, I can probably spare some time Saturday. Shoot me a text if you need me.

Re: Build thread
That is quite the laundry list! You should be able to get it all done in an afternoon, lol!
Hopefully you'll retain power steering to move those front 12" wheels around :-)

Re: FDEEZ's Build Thread
Glad that all worked out. I felt like quitting from reading this :P Those pesky MAFs I tell you!..... Thanks! Sometimes the good 'ol trial & error does the trick. Which black FD... I'm terrible with names. It's the one with with the volk wheels, Mazdaspeed hood, and wastegate that exits out the...

Re: FDEEZ's Build Thread
After a brief encounter with a black FD a few months ago, my idle has been hovering around 1,500rpm. If you've heard my car in person, then you'll know that a 1,500rpm is no bueno (decibel-wise). With how cold & snowy its been as well as how busy I've been at work, I've lost interest in the car ...

Re: The Miata
Sorry to hear about your motor. You should slap in a high revving ported na 13b in there :-) Smaller displacement, light, more powerful, and probably more reliable as well.

Re: Build thread
Oh were you wanting the painter to fix the dents but keep the bubble? Correct, I didn't want the painter to mistakenly flatten my sunroof. I took off this afternoon towards the base so I could go weigh the car (I'm getting antsy lol) and it died on me at Constitution and Powers. At first I didn't h...

Re: Build thread
I'm pretty sure my sunroof is thin steel (not aluminum). It's definitely magnetic. If I were to guesstimate, I would think it weighs 2 pounds or so...but don't take my word for it...I'm terrible with guessing weight. It is significantly lighter than the moonroof though. Be cautious...these things de...

Re: Build thread
Thanks for posting pics. Now I can say I saw one, lol. To be honest, I wouldn't bother getting a metal sunroof. I don't think the benefits outweigh the costs involved in finding, buying, and installing one... and possibly repainting one if it doesn't match your car or is dented. Besides, the bulk of...

Re: Build thread
The panel (sun shade) for the glass moonroof. I knew it existed...just never saw one or saw one for sale.
I have both a sunroof & moonroof. On those occasions that I want to lighten up the car, I switch to the sunroof. That glass weighs a ton.

Re: Build thread
OK I'm an idiot, I figured out the sunroof panel lol. It's from the exact same year and model trim so it makes sense that it would fit perfectly. My only problem now is the inner rivet is broken on each side of the rear of the sunroof where the panel snaps in, so I have to fix that before I can ins...

Re: FDEEZ's Build Thread
Had some free time today...so i bled my clutch with this new bleeder setup. All I have to say is WOW! After several bubbles exiting my slave cylinder, my clutch pedal is now rock solid. My clutch engagement is completely different as well. I don't think my pedal has been this firm in a while. The sa...

Re: FDEEZ's Build Thread
I thought I would try a different method to bleeding my Rx7's hydraulics. I've tried the cheapo Mityvac method of pulling vacuum from the master cylinders, a more expensive method of pushing fluid from the end device (e.g. caliper & clutch slave cylinder) to the master cylinder(s) using a Phoeni...

Amen brother! Same goes for me...I may show at a later time. I'm also blessed with the wonderful 60 hrs (at minimum)/workweek.
