I completely agree. But I love having the top down. and for the price of a ok condition hard top+ paint i can get coilovers and a roll bar or most of my turbokit

The way I see it, you go with whats most important to you and focus on that, If your really into function over form, than you belong at an autocross or track not a car show. Then if your doing the "Function" thing right you will be surrounded by people checking out your car giving you props and respect. Besides racings more fun than showing :) Of course you can have both, ..if your rich.

To take a car to a show and have fun I believe that you either have to have a fully badass detailed out car with all of the tricks (playing to the judges) or you have to be interesting. At 5280 my v8 car attracted as much attention as the GT40 next to it. We all know that my car is not nearly as badass as a GT40, but it is interesting and different. So, put $30K into your car to make it badass, put the LS in it for about $15K-$20K or quit going to shows. :D
