The sales pitch was pretty short, but they had a chorus line of cute girls dancing to the Zoom-zoom song before talking about the car. The test drive was VERY short, I only got about two minutes behind the wheel of the 2.5 5-door sport. How did it feel? Well, I'm no car reviewer because otherwise I'd grow an English accent and be on Top Gear. I'm sure this is what it must be like to drive the 6i. This is much more nimble than my 6s Of course, that would probably be due to the fact that this was a 4-cylinder vs. my V6. Anyways, the most important thing was that I finally got to get face-to-face with the car instead of poring over pictures on the web. Prior to attending this event, I was on the fence with the new 6. It looked nice but I wouldn't be sure how it looked in person. Having seen it in person, I am now happy to say that it is very easy on the eyes. However, it isn't enough for me to trade in my '05 black beauty, although if I owned an '06-'08, yeah, I'd ditch it in a heartbeat. :P However, that Mazdaspeed concept pic that I've seen floating around the forum is another story. If that becomes reality, that may sway my decision! Anyways, to sum up, it is a nice vehicle, but I'm still curious to see what NA finally gets.
p.s. - please do not show these pics to my 6. She gives me the evil-eyes when her tank is under half full. I would hate to see what happens when I'm caught running around with a younger-model black 6!
p.p.s - There's a follow-on event next week that I will be participating in...stay tuned for details!
Yes, I know this thread is worthless with out pics. I also took some video but I'm not sure how to compress it or whatnot. Anyhoo, let's have a look:
What launch event would be complete without a scantily clad girl?

Cute girl giving the facts of the new 6

The 'track' so to speak in a small parking lot:

My turn behind the wheel! Those cones were already knocked down before I got there, I swear!

Yours truly and a new black 6

What promotion event would be complete without goodies? Got a brochure:

A big-ass booklet about the new Mazda 6. Look how thick it is! Wish I could read it:

And a free Mazda 3! ...well a toy anyway

Why they gave away a Mazda 3 toy at a Mazda 6 launch event is beyond my understanding. But hey, free's free! Maybe my Mazdaspeed Bear co-pilot can play with it.
