Subject: Mirror, Auto-Dimming with Compass 2007 Mazda 5

Automatically dims to reduce glare from headlights of cars behind you. Bright LED compass readout. Replaces the existing interior rearview mirror.

Three things I noted during installation:
1. The plastic piece meant to cover the wire from the mirror mount on the windshield, to the head liner, is too short. I added a small piece of foam tape and plastic to fill in the difference.

2. The + wire to the electrical connector attaches to a blue wire/pink stripe. The green wire with black stripe has no power when the key is in the ON position.

3. Finally, there are no clips along the pillar from the header to the dash. I used some other fasteners while being careful not to interfere with the air bag mechanism.

Mine came with one and I love it. Esp when you have some jackass that wants to shine his brights at you. ;)

Lee I say go for it. Nothing's more annoying than driving with light shining in your eye plus the compass is always handy.

I sooo miss not having a compass....without the mountains in view, I'm lost...lol...it's on my mod list.

Very Nice. Your gonna love it. I also have auto dimming and it's great. The only thing I need is a compas. Like Lee said no mountains no sense of direction.

The Mazda5 Sports don't come with much. I figured the DIY approach would be a LOT chaeper then the dealer adding my options. I'd like to add a cassette player just for all the "books on tape" I get from my parents. LOL Great for the drive to Boulder and back.
