It is a DSM style flange with just a straight extension(about an inch)

You won't have much of a problem installing it as I believe you have a CAI.

But do order the boost tap from ATP........and tap the silicone hot pipe.:)
*CP-e CAI
*Turbo Inlet
*ETS 3.5" TMIC
*SU Test Pipe
*RPM Street Springs
*AeroForce Gauge
*RPM LED Side/Rear Markers
*SU Rear Engine mount
*Turbine Tech Front engine mount
*Cp-e Rear Diff Mount
*TurboSmart MBC

Thread jack, what's that?--lol. I'm usually the one doing that...

I got my flange (and BOV) from www.therpmstore.com. The flange is made by Synapse as well I believe.

Update time...

Firestoned opened up his shop, tools, supplies, and time to install my Synapse this Monday. "It was totally easy...only took like ten minutes--I totally recommend this mod". <-- Oh wait, that's just what every other post I read on the internet says, lol.

Actually, the Cobb SRI does get in the way, as well as the IC cover...as well as the hood, and anything else that is within proximity of this ginormous BOV. Basically, the stock TMIC and generic flange don't want to corperate.

Upon leaving Lafyette, the car felt okay-- I only boosted once or twice. But later on, when I really tested it, I had an issue. The car felt very sluggish, super slow, and wasn't boosting until 4k rpm; which is nowhere near its usual 2300. I sent Eric a message, and within no time he was there to help me...yet again:61424796:, and even was able to get a hold of Synapse (which I was never able to do). After going over some possibilities and deciding on a plan of action, I went to work. Upon pulling off the IC cover, I found a small pinhole in the hose going to port C. When I pulled on it, a larger tear was revealed...boo-yah! I had previously checked the connections, but hadn't seen this until now. So, amidst all the other possibilities, it all came down to a boost leak. But, I'm thinking the leak occured due to the IC cover pressing on it from above. SO...that is going to have to be remidied.

Long story short, the Synapse is in and from the few runs I've done, I am very happy! Impressions: the car doesn't necessarily boost/react any quicker, but it holds boost longer (past 5k rpms), harder (that's what she said), and there's not as much lag in between shifts (i.e. the boost seems to hold as opposed to dropping).

Image ^^ side view. You can see how the recirc hose slides just under the intake hose. I noticed that once the hose gets hot, it does bend a bit...maybe cutting off 20% of the diameter of the hose. I plan on adjusting the mounting bracket for the SRI, and seeing if this will fix it.

Image ^^ another view of the close proximity of the Synapse to the intake:eek:

Image ^^ Lastly, a horid picture of the lines going to the two ports on the end. They were better when I left Eric's, but since then I needed to cut and readjust them. However, they don't seem to be getting crimped by the hood, or having any ill effect on the BOV. I have some larger (5mm) hoses on order and will see if I can run the lines to stay within the weatherstripping on the hood.

As of now, I have the TMIC cover completely off. I'm going to either shim it up, so it doesn't touch the third line on the side...or remove some of the cover's material.

I'll post more pics when I get the larger hoses and figure out the cover:D

Has anyone used this? http://www.streetunit.com/SU_Recirc_Tube_p/sumzrrecirc.htm

Perhaps it is a bit stronger/stiffer than the stock hose?

Yup, thanks to Eric I have one of those on my car right now. The stock piece doesn't fit well with the Synapse Recirc fitting. The only problem with that hose is that it is straight so it will probably hit your intake as well.

The synapse is huge, but fits well in the MS6. As for the MS3, that thing is tight. I would cut part of the shroud for the TMIC. That is what I had to do for the HKS.

I just put one of these on for the same issue (HKS though). The new tube is straight and very stiff, and it is putting too much pressure on my Cobb SRI. Basically the recirc from the BPV is straighter but my intake is getting crimped so I'll be swapping back to the stock recirc tube. Hope that helps.

Thanks bobopud. I was thinking of maybe using a longer bolt and some washers, which would shim the cover up?? If not, I would almost need to trim off the section that sits just to the right of the IC. If that makes sense...it's like 4" wide and 15" long.

That is very helpful, thanks mazdaman-G. I guess I won't be trying that, lol. Has anyone been able to find a hose that elbows down, then goes straight....or has like an "S" shape? I may have to go look for one. Last time I was at Napa, etc., they had a whole aisle with a bunch of hoses. Is that hose size pretty standard I wonder?

Congrats on getting it on(no pun intended), looks real tight in there. Glad to see you got it on with not that many issues. I hope you like it as much as I have......:)

Thanks Gmoney. Oh yeah, you can def. feel a difference. Just like I could def. feel a difference with the SRI. New and glorious noises have now been released, as you promised:D

I did the same thing:p Eric was like, "you got any hose"? ...and I'm like, "I needed hose, what hose?" LOL.

Just an fyi, the hose that you get at Autozone, etc. (should they even have any; as I went to (3) different places, and not a one had any) is kind of weenie. I ordered some 5mm ID silicone hose from Street Unit...

Good luck:)
