Oh yeah, almost forgot to add. My old 6 is still on the lot, still all pretty. Although it's a little dirty right now. Is it common for the dealer to remove the mats? I noticed they took the all weather mats out of the car. Not sure if they were in the trunk or not.

Just called....they claim it's ready to go. We'll see about THAT!

I believe they take the mats are placed in the trunk so they don't get dirty during test drives, and so the carpets can dry after detail...just my best guess...good luck....

On my way to go pick up the car. I'll give them some flack (again) about giving me the floormats out of another RX-8 since mine are apparently set to arrive on Monday. This thing better be freakin' perfect.

There was a John Kerry thing here in town and he went and wouldn't shut up so the cops just tazed his ass repeatedly.

Well, the center console is fixed. The foglight mount is fixed. The stereo "fixed", but something's wrong with how they connected it. Now, volume level 10 is obscenely loud, and there's hiss/feedback at low volume. And, the paint guys didn't mask off the roof and there was overspray everywhere, I spent 2 hours wetsanding/polishing/wetsanding/polishing/glazing/polishing/waxing/sanding/polishing/etc. Today, I'll get to do the entire hood! Yeah! Floor mats will be in Monday, they told me cheeringly. Once I get those, I will not even give them the courtesy of a driveby.

Forgot to add: putting sandpaper to the car, when it's something you haven't done before, is pretty freakin' scary. Especially when it's in a prominent area. I figured it wouldn't look any worse than the crappy overspray, so I took to it. Keep the paper wet, have patience, and don't freak out when you all the marring you're inflicting on the poor, unsuspecting car. And be prepared to polish. A lot.

Floor mats are in. After I go down today and pick them up, I'll officially be done with Mazda of Lakewood. Anything else that needs to be ordered, warranty claims, etc will be done elsewhere. I'd tell them about the paint guys screwing up, but I can already see them rolling their eyes when I pull in. I'm surprised that they haven't put armed guards out there yet to turn me away.

Oh, and of course, I had to call to make sure they were in. Expecting a call from them is asking way too much.
