bellalyssa wrote:I already have a replacement lined up for when I get the check from my insurance. It'll be a highly modified Audi A4 Avant. Hold judgement before you see it. This thing is sexy. It's got a front mount, upgraded k04 turbo, bilstein height adjustable shocks, neuspeed springs, custom exhaust, Revo tuning system with 3 maps, sway bars, HIDs, hardwired radar detector and much more.

I'd like to see that car...bet it's ####ing sick. I've had a thing for wagons for a while now. Was looking for a Mazda6 wagon for a while to do a Speed6 conversion on. I would take the Audi in a second.

Sorry about your car :( and glad you & the deer are ok :)

agree on Audi's, I was close to getting an A3 before this last MS3, but after lots of research and test drives, they didn't seem as reliable, and the interiors were CHEAP, an 07's interior i drove was already chipped and flaking off...

edit: that's a3's, so the other Audi's may be way better :)

Welcome to the club! First of all, I'm glad the car did its job and protected you, (as did my old 6). I hope you stick around even if a different brand of car is a better fit for ya.

If you end up with that Audi I have better connections in that department than I do in the Mazda world. My brothers good friend owns/might still own the record 1/4 mile holding one.

I don't see anything wrong with maintaining an Audi. After being an Audi tech for Soo long all the Audi maintenance nightmares are usually from owner neglect.

Glad your ok!!!! And yeh this does help with letting go of the MZ3. And why are you going to buy a car right before you're supposed to be leaving.

On a sidenote, yeah some may think I'm biased, but heck I came from a Mazda. And all these Audi comments are silly..... Everyone is entitled to thier opinions, but some just seem off base. And cheap interior?!? Guess that goes back to opinion, as Audi is known for having the best interiors in the Euro scene. And ian1.1 is spot on, just like any car if you take care of it, it will take care of you.

Lyssa once you get the new car, let me know, I'd love to check it out!!!

On another level, I thought you're leaving the country for 1-3 years in just a few months?
If so, why get _any_ car? At least anything more than basic, disposable transportation?
Won't you want that money overseas or in the future?
If you're going away for that long, that soon, I'd get a $1,500 Corolla, drive it, wax it, then sell it for $1,800 when you leave.

The Audi is owned by a fellow autocrosser and has been meticulously maintained. He's done all of the right services at the right times. He's cutting me a deal on it since we race together and taking close to 3k off the selling price. I will have to throw some of my own money down on top, but it'll be worth it in the long run. I am fine with having an A4 Avant, but I will not go near B5 S4s. Audis will love you if you love them and I will love this car.

G-Man, I have known Mark Baer for awhile now. I also know the number of Audis his shop works on and I am 100% sure he would also say that as long as you take care of them, they will take care of you. Thank you for the suggestion though :)

I'll stick around for sure Eric.

And as soon as I get the Audi I will be hitting you up. There honestly isn't much more that needs to be done to it but I'm sure I can find something.

the people saying audi's are bad haven't own a audi. And the owners of audi's say they are good. What does that remind me? *cough*rotary*cough*

:D

I wouldn't fallow any "he said/she said" advice. It's better to listen to what actuall owners with experience with audi's have to say.
