tough call. If it was going to be a Toy, then probably. DD... tough decision. I foresee the MS3 being more reliable with the lower mileage and FWD platform right now. But it's also a good time to cash in on equity.

More I think about it though, there's no way I'd do it. It would have to simply be a financial-based decision and IMO, it would hardly involve the WRX and be more about selling the MS3. Otherwise, between those two, I would never trade, even including the 8-10k you probably end up with.

I have owned both a 2002 WRX and a 2009 MS3. First off from my experience the MS3 can take much more abuse. The transmission on the WRX was weak as was the clutch. Second the handling nod goes to the MS3. Don't get me wrong the 02 WRX handled really well but the MS3 is even better. The WRX has AWD which for daily driving is a bonus but that same AWD makes it much slower on a highway punch. In the end if you need the money get the WRX. They make good DD's and are fun to drive.

Update: picked up some bugeye powerslide goodness tonight (2002 WRX for the non-Subaru speaking folks). Had it sideways in the gravel within 5 miles of taking ownership. TSD rally tomorrow. I'll have put less than 100 miles on it before it enters its first competitive event. God I've missed AWD....It isn't as nice as my MS3 or as fast on tarmac, but the better house purchase will be worth it. Did I mention the powerslides?

On a bummer note, MS3 to be up for sale as soon as I can get it detailed.
