I like the fact that you can remove it at anytime. I wouldn't want that as a permanent paint job, but it might be fun for awhile. Looks like you did a good job, is it smooth?

Wow. Pretty darn interesting. I don't know anything about this.
How is it "removeable" ?
What happens to the paint underneath?
How does this compare to vinyl wraps?

The paint-kit comes with a rubbery rag thing that you can use, but i haven't washed it yet... other people have been washing theirs like they would a normal paint job, you just have to be gentle with it...

Its fun stuff, totally safe to play with... It just peels off, for example, I didn't mask off the headlights or taillights because they were so small, i just painted over them then peeled the dip off of them and it doesn't leave any residue or stickyness... Compared to Vinyl, it's easier to apply, probably cheaper, but maybe a little less durable than vinyl. When you peel plastidip it feels like a thick-balloon material. One other advantage is sometimes vinyl can leave sticky residue when plastidip won't.

Yeah I definitely like the temporary-ness of it all, not sure how long i'll keep it... The texture on some parts is smooth, but since its my first time I have a lot of gritty-rough sandpaperish parts too, people who do it right end up with a smooth matte finish.

Also took another pic of the rear with the green peeled off the emblem. (emblem itself is black plastidip from a year ago with a clear coat on top, the new dip peeled off of the old layer)

Wow that looks pretty sweet. I'll have to meet up with you some time when I get back and check it out. I've been seeing your avatar pic and thought you photo shopped it green.

The back looks totally different with the black emblem. Looks great. Glad you took the plunge.

BTW, I just washed my grill that I plastidipped like the rest of the car. It held up great.

Very well done.

And though it's easy to say since it's not my car, I'd love to see the MAZDASPEED emblem in black, and maybe also the "spoiler". None the less, kudos!

Thanks! I agree i wish the mazdaspeed emblem was black, but i made the mistake of leaving it on when i dipped, so now masking it all to paint black would be too much of a pain... next time for sure!
