So, I did end up shimming the IC cover with some washers and longer bolts. Although it did solve the (original) problem of the hose going from port C and being kinked at the cover, it now makes the cover rub against the hood. There's a strip of black insulation-type of stuff (on the hood, directly above the cover) that is now rubbing off...smells like burnt rubber.

So, I think I'm going to take the cover and make a visit to the 'Ol band saw; and cut the 4" wide section of the cover (that is causing all the issues to begin with) off.

Will post pics later, as the saw isn't at my place.

Another update:

As you can tell from the earlier pictures, there's downward pressure being put on the recirc hose from the SRI, as well as there being a pretty decent decline coming off of the Synapse. I opened up my hood today, getting ready to shave the TMIC cover (finally) and I found one small tear beginning. I don't think it's gone all the way through the hose yet. Upon a closer look, I found a second tear in the tube...this one's pretty severe.

It's apparent that there's just two much pressure on the recirc tube. I'm not sure how well you can see the tear/s, but here's a few phone pics:

In addition to the hose problem, the Synapse is rubbing against my hood. So here's (what I think) the solution is:
1.) I need to adjust the Synapse from its current angled position, to being horizontal. This will clear the hood.
2.) Then I would need to use (2) 90 degree silicone elbows. That way, the hose would come out of the Synapse and go directly down. Then add another elbow going the other way; basically forming a backwards "S". Would this be okay or cause any problems?

These are expensive, but something like this: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=2099

go to Autozone, and ask to look through their radiator hoses. They will have a hose that will fit perfectly, or one that you can cut up to be perfect

As usual, thanks for the good advice Eric. I found some hoses at Checker. Started making some progress and of course it gets dark, so I had to stop once I had momentun behind me:mad:

(If I had it to do over again, I'd get a PG TIP...that Cobb is a sorry excuse for 165.00 expenditure; totally flimsy.)

I'll regroup tomorrow and see what happens.

Here's a picture from yesterday. I got everything where I wanted it, but of course the SRI got in the way when fastening everything back in.

I've got another hose with a longer 90 on it...so hopefully this will go under the SRI. I'll give it a go after work-

Sweet! I bet yours will be a breeze. I think the MS6 has a lot more room if I'm not mistaken.

LOL, my neighbor walked by yesterday....looks at the engine....asks what I'm doing...then says, "damn, they really cram that sh-- in there, don't they?"

First off, where can I get the thin rubber seal that goes on the flange for the Synapse?? My old one was completely shredded. For now, I "jerry-rigged" a washer. But I'm only spiking at 9-10psi, so I'm hoping that's what it is. Beforehand, I was spiking at 5-6psi and getting KR.

After cutting up the first hose (shown above) I went with the second one; with the longer section after the 90. After the bend, it's about 6+"

You can see just how much of a bend I needed. The hose runs right up against the intake and straight down. I basically pushed the SRI down and it nestles almost perfectly into the curve of the hose.

Here's a view from under the Synapse:

Hopefully the seal will fix the boost issues, because I have everything sitting perfectly!

I found myself in a very similar situation...here's what I did:

1. Drive to Ace Hardware
2. Remove Synapse from car in parking lot (don't forget your tools)
3. Enter friendly neighborhood Ace and find the drawer FULL of rubber o-rings
4. Test fit said o-rings until you find a match (don't forget to bring the valve inside with you!)
5. Pay girl with Ac/DC tattoo on her chest $0.97 (I live in Arvada)
6. Re-install Synapse with fresh o-ring in parking lot
7. Drive car as hard as possible for next 10 minutes to ensure o-ring is "seated"

...if that fails, OR you don't have an ACE, let me know, I have a spare

It will be a piece of cake, you just need to trim your stock hose and change the angle the BOV sits at on the flange. Then it fits great and works the same.

You also need to order up the ATP boost tap, to tap your hot pipe and give you trouble free operation of the BOV

Just trying to save you time and the hassle...........It is in use by a few of us and makes quite a difference(this is not your typical BOV). Doing it right the first time is what I recommend........just my .02 GL
