erod550 wrote:Yes. You can load what are called OTS (off the shelf) tunes that are general tunes based on which intake you have. They do a decent job. Eventually you'll want to get a dyno tune so you have a tune that is specific to your car. That's even more money though, heh.

Yea i heard those were expensive lol so it'll work with different set ups, like a cp-e downpipe with mazdaspeed CAI?

The off the shelf tunes are pretty good...good enough for a road going car. The only way I would pay for a custom tune is if you modded beyond the OTS maps or your pretty serious into racing. The main reason for the AP is to stop the fuel cut / boost cut and to get some more power out of the mods already done to the car. If you can control your right foot itll reduce the amount of gas the car uses too...but i cant keep the loud pedal away from the floor board so it hurt my gas mileage.

Another reason for a custom tune is if you still get cuts with the OTS maps. I had a downpipe and the Stage 2 OTS tune would give me cuts at high speed in 4th gear, like when I was going all out merging onto the highway. Plus I was only hitting 16-17psi and I wanted to go to 18-19. I wasn't comfortable enough with ATR to do it myself, so I paid Nick at MAC to do it.

Wow wonder if it was because of the elevation or differences in cars...the stage 2 tune put me at 18 tapering to 14 and I didnt see boost cut when the car was warmed up. I was at like 100 ft elevation at the time too though.

You probably won't find another AP for that price. I'd jump on it. You can still run the AP even without the downpipe and get more power until you get the downpipe installed.

Remember with the Corksport downpipe you'll need a test pipe too to go with it since it's only half the length of other downpipes.
