hey there

i went to a cmzc meet or two but not many people were there.

up until last week i had this mazda3:

well anyways you must be wondering why I posted something like this in the mazdaspeed area, eh?

well.....
last week i bought the LAST NEW SPEED 6 in washington state, oregon, idaho, and montana.

It is a Grand Touring Black Mica / Black with every option but navigation. which personally i think is a waste of dough.

honestly up until the minute i saw it i was planning and saving for an '09 camaro. i took my mazda3 in for service (at the 49770 mile mark right before the warranty was up lol) and saw it sitting in the VERY back of the dealership. i guess it was way back there because they were having an offsite used car auction and did not want for it to get hit by some dipshit kid driving used cars on and off of their lot.

i love it

so i've got 2 questions for you guys (and gals):::::

ONE is are mazdaspeed6 headlights the same as regular mazda6 headlights (sizewise)? mine are HID's?

and

TWO i am thinking about getting lamin-x protective headlight covers (my mazda3 headlights were completely pitted when i traded it in) but i dont know too much about them. are there a better type out there? different brand? do any of you guys have them??

and input would be great!

CONGRATS!!! that is one beauty you got there!


our tint guy Eric (firestoned) would be the guy to hit up for the lamin-x for the headlights. A bunch of us have went to him in the past couple weeks for different lamin-x. I personally put the tinted lamin-x on my taillights and LOVE it. Eric does a great job and cheap.

Talk to Eric (Firestoned) about Lamin-X, I've got them on my fogs, seem nice and are VERY thick!

Congrats man. Funny, I bought mine two weeks ago and they told me mine was one of two left between Kansas and Washington. Even funnier we got the same exact car, color and all ;-)

No idea on the headlights.

Clear Bra was the original, but not sure if one is better than the other. I have it on my hood (about 16", and my light covers). Any brand is better than nothing at all IMHO.

Congrats on the car man!! Welcome to the darkside of having turbocharged power :D

As for your question, ALL Mazdaspeed 6's have Xenon headlights. I had a base Sport Mazdaspeed 6 with exactly 0 options lol, and it had Xenons.

At this point im only going to do tint... not sure how dark I should go though. my mazda3 was 25% but i was thinking around 10% for this car.

i checked out your cardomain and how did u get it to say "MY MAZDA 6"?

im sure tons of people have asked you already lol?

A few have...yeah...lol. Well, behind the stereo face plate is all the hardware from a Metra kit. The New Metra kit allows you to change the text to whatever you want...
If your not sure, a metra kits is what allows you to install an aftermarket head unit.
