"But, for our money, we prefer the Mazdaspeed 3."
"A similarly equipped Mazdaspeed 3 tallies about $900 less"
"it lacks the down-to-the-millimeter precision of a Mazdaspeed 3."
"But there was one problem: It wasn't much fun."
"Our car hit 60 in 6.2 seconds and went on to complete the quarter-mile in 14.6 seconds at 100 mph."
"Don't misunderstand. We know that any front-driver making this much power is going to suffer some torque-influenced directional challenges, but — trust us on this one — this is crazy. Despite being torque-limited in 1st and 2nd gear, the Caliber changes direction on the wildly erratic whim of physics. Mazda's solution to this problem on the Mazdaspeed 3 — curtailing torque based on a combination of steering angle and gear selection — works elegantly by comparison. And the Mazda makes more torque."

I didn't know you could read Josh. Especially given your photography skillz last night....I am guessing about 90% of the pics you took
will not be usable on this forum. Now your other site maybe.
Back on topic, I can't say I am surprised by this review, it was doomed from the start.
and I can't read either according to Tom, I mean Tim. [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]
C/D pans most american cars except the 300, which I am confused about....but that is neither here nor there.

Hey! That's Edmunds not Car and Driver!
No surprise there, take a rather uninspiring, overweight platform to start with, give it enormous, heavy wheels to hamper it even more, and what do you end up with? Dodge's overall approach to performance stems from the "less refinement means it's a performance vehicle" mantra. Rednecks everywhere, rejoice!

I don't know much about the SRT-4 but I test drove a new Caliber about a year ago. It was like driving tin on wheels. To me it rode the same as the first neon.
I have nothing against American cars, I own a few. I am just not that impressed with the Caliber.
