So I had to run out to Soopers tonight for the Mrs. It was raining lightly, the roads were wet. So on the way home, when I caught a red light all by myself, I switched off DSC. Ran it up to 3500, and when the light went green, I did a semi-pop of the clutch. Little feathering, just to keep that rear diff mount solid.

Man, that's a WOOF of a kick. Throws you back in your seat, but it was nice to see the 4WD light come on and hear just that little "CHIRP" before the car jumps forward. I wish I had a GTech or an FX2 to time my 60 runs. :(

Oh, and if you're out and about, the street racers are alive and well tonight. SRT-4, Ricer neon, Wrx X 2. You name it, and it's out revving and screeching tonight.

I'm too chicken to beat up my rear diff like that. :D

And besides, the wife wouldn't let me.

Light come on? Like as in the AWD system isn't full-time AWD?

No the Speed 6 from what i understand is Front wheel 100% until the traction is messed with then it splits torque 50/50 or 60/40 % I think ;)

But I've seen Speed6's on a dyno and they are spinning both sets of rollers.

Yep, the 4WD light. Does the same thing on my wife's CX-9.

Sort of. As I understand it, the MS6 is a 90-10 split most of the time until the front wheel(s) slip. Then it distributes torque up to either 60-40 or 50-50 (can't remember which) until the slippage stops.

Is one spinning faster than the other?

According to Edmunds.com, it is 100% FWD until slip, then it is up to 50-50. Then again, they also say there are normal, sport, and snow modes, which as far as I can tell is NOT true. So maybe they aren't the best ppl to say.

You're prob right about the 90/10 split I also have read more reviews and been through countless articles about the speed6 saying they are 100% front until almost slip. But hey either way they aren't at all times AWD. The 4WD kicks in at slip.
