So today while spending way too much time on Wikipedia, I was looking at Car and Driver's 10 Best List, and realized, Mazda is actually #4 on their list of overall manufacturer wins over the years, found the info over here:

^^^I never realized how dominant Honda is... I have no idea how Toyota out sells them?!? As a matter of fact, I don't understand how Toyota out sells a TON of companies... I just don't get it, Toyota makes some of the most lame, boring cars on earth IMO, that is since they canceled the Supra, MR2, Celica ect. Although, on another note, Mazda has plenty of wins, but is ridiculously inconsistent on keeping good cars on their lineup, with the exception of the Miata. Case in point, here's the top 10 Best individual cars list:

I just thought it was pretty cool, and felt like sharing, on another note, me being a Subaru owner, Subaru only had 2 cars on there, the 2002 & 2003 WRX. Goes to show you just how good Mazda really is.

Minus the truck/van side of the house, almost all of Mazda's current lineup has been on the list at some point:

The Miata, 6, Speed3, RX-8...only the Speed6 and regular 3 haven't made it. Pretty cool, if you ask me.

Well, chalk up 2 more for Mazda, as the Mazdaspeed 3 & Miata are both on C&D's 10Best again this year, the 2nd year in a row the Speed3 & Miata were both on it (2007 & 2008), IIRC, the 3rd year consecutively for the Miata (2006, 2007 & 2008).

If it weren't for the BMW 3-series getting on their list again for MY08, it would have tied BMW for 3rd place.

I saw that too, picked it up last week. The Malibu made it on there pretty quickly. Sigh...the Accord and 3 series on there yet again. C&D should just make it the top 8 and forgo the yearly love fest with BMW and Honda.

I agree... I've driven several Accords & 3-series BMW's, and honestly don't understand why they always get such rave reviews. I've driven 1 Accord that I truly enjoyed driving, which was a V6 manual coupe, but I've driven a dozen that were just boring... I've driven 1 3-series that I enjoyed, which was my buddy Atkin's car when I was in the Army, it was a E30 M3, you know, the older late 80's-early 90's M3 that came with a 2.3L inline-4 with around 190bhp. While we were in Iraq, he paid a shop that somewhat sponsored him to swap in a 3.2L inline-6 from a E36 M3... that car was a blast! Light, nimble, good power/weight ratio, fun car. Just about every other 3-series I've driven, which I've driven E30's, E36's & E46's (haven't driven new E90's) has been boring.... they have heavy steering, and I would almost say they drive like tanks.... they also have some of the least inspiring, most plain Jane interiors I've ever seen, no eye candy, boring gauges, no thoughtful design, just simplicity, which I don't think is worth any awards... combine that with the fact that most of them are much slower than cars in their price range, and I don't see anything worth of praise or award. Just my $.02

While working at Courtsey Ford many years ago as a lot tech we had a 1995 BMW M3 on the used lot. And each night we'd have to run down to the overflow lot off of Sante Fe to lock it up and that BMW was frequently our car of choice to take down there. I thought it was fun to drive. I liked watching the fuel mileage gauge swing from uber mileage to zero mileage as I ripped through the gears at full throttle. How I didn't get fired from there with the antics I pulled is amazing.

I used to own a Mazda 626 and an Accord is basically the same thing. I liked my 626, but I didn't think it was award worthy.

Never drove an E36 M3, but many 323i, 325i/xi, 328i/xi, 330i/xi ect. The non-M versions of the 3-series are boring IMO, and I don't understand how they keep getting on their list. The only M3 I drove (I mentioned above) was a lot of fun, but all the normal 3-series I've driven, didn't seem nearly as special as what C&D makes them out to be. Just my opinion.

I love my Mazda... But I don't like Car & Driver. Every time I pick up a copy that's sitting in whatever waiting room I'm in, I get disgested by it and wonder why the hell I picked it up in the first place. Their writers are idiots in my opinion. They couldn't do an apple to apple comparison without having first formed an opinion as to which apple was better. I better stop there before I go off!

can't comment on the the ride of the Bmw 3 series. I have always loved the older
body styles, but hate the new ones. I have never like the interiors of the Bmw's nor have I been a fan of the price.
I have driven a '92 accord lx which as fine, nothing special. I drove a '95 accord v6 and was pleased with it's power,
I like the interior layout nothing fancy but intuitive and ergonomic.

just felt like bringing that back from the dead a month later.
