Bus accident (updated)

Postby T-time » Sat Oct 03, 2009 9:14

Well the curse struck me today in mississippi on my way back from my friends wedding. A bus decided it suddenly wanted my lane and then decided he didn't have to stop after hitting me.

There were no markings on the bus and I didn't get a plate cuz I was trying not to lose control.

Oh my goodness! That is horrible! I am so glad you are okay though, it could have been much worse! Did any airbags deploy?

No airbags deployed luckily, and we are driving the car back. I hope I don't have to pay the deductable since it was the bus' fault. But he left the scene. Do you think it would be covered by uninsured motorist?

Ouch that sucks. Did you call the cops and make a report? I woulda followed that bus till he pulled over stop in front of him and wait for the cops to show. I bet he didn't even feel anything and didn't bother to look in his mirrors.

Just make sure to insist that the quote to replace damaged parts uses new OEM equipment. If you don't tell them and don't follow through, they will use junkyard parts, or knockoff stuff to save money. It is your right to get new OEM parts.

I would call RTD and file a police report stating the accident and that the bus fled the scene. If you have a time of day and of course you know the intersection you could easily find out which bus hit you(and Driver). There would have to be some sort of damage to the bus or at least your paint on it. Any witnesses? If so have them write a statement for the police. GL
