LAKEWOOD - One person is in stable condition after 6th Avenue was turned into a drag strip on Saturday night.

Lakewood Police say they are looking for the drivers of two cars that were racing with a third on 6th between Sheridan Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard around 10 p.m.
Witnesses say the group was speeding at more than 100 mph when one car hit the center median and flipped several times.
The driver was trapped for about half an hour before he was rescued and taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital for surgery.
The driver's name and condition was not released.
Police want you to call them if you saw what happened or you know where the other two cars went. You can call 303-987-7111.

I just saw this on the news and was kinda surprised at what car it was that flipped over. (Not surprised now that I was wrong on what car it was) I had to rewind and pause and rewind just to be sure I saw it right. Sometimes (MOST OF THE TIME) it's not worth it. Those of you that do and can't help it get help. Don't put other peoples lives in danger. Your life is yours and thats fine but had there been more cars on 6th others would have paid also. Now a skittle is gone and the driver is in critical condition. I hope the driver gets well. But man are 3 people in trouble. Cops are already talking to one other driver they found.

(Skittle it is.)

I saw this on this news as well.

I don't think it's an RX-8. I know one is an SRT-4. The pictures you posted are definitely a Skittle in both.

They're both of the same car. Guess I was wrong. That rear door is what through me off. Looks Small and just the rest of it looked like an 8 to me. The door handel and body line of the door looked off but I figured, roll over. Why should it look the same.

Anywho fixed 1st post. Whew, it's not an 8.

I can't believe the driver of the SRT-4 actually survived. Granted he is in critical condition but look at that car- the roof collapsed over a foot/ foot and half into the interior. SRT-4 rollover is less than impressive, LOL.

Street racing isn't worth it any of the time. If you want to pull that shit, go to a track and get it out. Don't perpetuate the problem by doing quick little runs against people, I know some of you do this and I really wish you wouldn't. Yes, we drive wonderful little cars that go fast when we want them to but it isn't worth it when you look at the cost. I see it as incredibly irresponsible and incredibly disrespectful to those around you who are unaware of what is going on.

While I am glad the driver in this case isn't dead, I feel jail time is necessary in this case. I hope he turns the other drivers in as well so they can face the punishment for their recklessness.

Some people are so stupid. It absolutely blows my mind.
