Which Downpipe for MS6?

Is the "divorced" downpipe design from Corksport really a better design? Also, Protegegarage has a good deal on two Corsksport downpipes and a manifold. Will the manifold produce any extra power if I don't put a full CB exhaust (ie, limit my mods to just the manifold, downpipe, testpipe and a pro-tune)?

Or should I just get the CPE or ATP downpipe?

I don't want to make my car loud.

Thanks

DON'T GET DIVORCED!!! There were a lot of issues with those DPs and they're the biggest pita to install ever! I would recommend a CP-e DP. meeker is selling one for dirt cheap that I might pick up, just needs some work getting an ext wg dump closed (which shouldn't be too hard at all)

Thanks tbot. Why is the CPE better than the ATP? Do you know what issues the divorced DP's have caused?

Cp-e has excelent build quality vs the ATP, but then again there's always flukes to that.

As far as divorced, I believe iirc there were boost issues, i.e. bad boost creep. In any case, I would go hit up meeker about the CP-e one that he has, KILLER deal. Even tho I have an un catted DP, I'm tempted to buy that one from him as well lol.

I beg to differ! Wait...Oh, you're talking about downpipes. Nvm.

Did you get any turbo-smoke issues with the catless DP? That's my main concern, even though that's SOOO far down the line for me it's not even funny. As I plan this out, I was planning on catted to keep the turbo from smoking...

Yeah, I don't see too many positive comments about ATP on other forums...any of their products, really.

I did see someone on msf.org say they got a DP on ebay for like $279 that worked well, fit perfectly, and so on. Probably a roll of the dice, though.

Because TWO down pipes are better than ONE! (If you sell the catless, and I have money, I might be interested...but I'd have to sell my left nut...which would get me about half the money...)

Seriously, you can't go wrong with CP-E. They over-engineer EVERYTHING.

I know the University of Wyoming was buying left nuts specifically a few years ago. Maybe check into that. They paid $30,000 AND gave you a free prosthetic :)

My cp-e is spoken for at the moment, ill keep yall updated!

As for my input on DP's... If ur running a stock turbo go catted unless yo want a constant cel and some cool smoke effects! CP-E is the way to go hands down or there's a company on MSF called extreme boost that has a nice DP as well. I dont have any personal experiance with the corksport dp but have heard a lot of bad things over the years.

Sounds like CPE (catted) is the way to go. Thanks. I plan on keeping the stock mufflers and turbo so I imagine its not worth getting an aftermarket manifold then. It seems like the turbo inlet and SRI's don't really add that much power either (besides cool noises).

Turbo inlets may not add anything substantial to bottomline HP numbers, but it's definitely a worthwhile addition, IMO. The way that the stock turbo reacts in terms of spool-response, is quite impressive. I noticed it immediately after the fellas installed it for me, and because of it, your bottom end HP immediately becomes more usable, and available so-to-speak.

I'm not going to say that it will eliminate turbo lag, but it will smooth out the sloppy-air enough, so that when you're sporty driving, the boost actually feels like it's immediately behind the throttle, instead of on a slight delay.

So, the SRI and inlet are worth it. Corksport has one that includes the inlet for much less than the Cobb SRI and inlet combined. Is there a difference in quality? Is the airbox worth it for the Corksport?
