So I took the plunge....ordered the CP-E Standback w/ PnP Harness today..... $1052 shipped. I've always felt my car has a very aggressive ECU, and I'm looking forward to freeing up my engine's potential.

But now, I need some opinions on where to do the tuning. I'm looking for a place with an AWD dyno that isn't the inertial type, and someone that is fairly experienced at tuning. Any suggestions? All responses are appreciated!

You're going to have problems finding a tuner that uses CPE so its going to be their first time like it was Nicks.

One thing I'd recommend if you start getting a fuel cut issue is take the plunge for another 400 and get the fuel pump if thats an option for you MS6's like it is us MS3's.

Also I'd assume Revolutions performance in the Springs would be best.

Congrats on getting it though!

I can help you out somewhat If ya want it though.

Good news is you can plug it in and use the base map and you'll notice a huge difference already.

Why don't you want to use an interial type dyno. I've heard those are better for tuning, but I have no experience one way or another.

With CPE I'd def recommend using one with inertia as its just a lot better to get a 'true' tune.

An inertial type dyno does not simulate true road conditions. Brandon mentioned this a while back in a post regarding MACs dyno giving inflated numbers (this was also due to them using a 1.25 SAE correction factor). As for fuel cut, I'm not quite at that level with my mods I HOPE. Intake, exhaust, BOV, and EM shouldn't be taking me near that 300 HP line that it seems the stock fuel pump is limited to. I'm guessing I'll be somewhere around the 270hp/300tq range at the wheels. If I had the upgraded top mount, downpipe, and race pipe, then I'd be worried. Mods like that will follow, but the fuel pump will be included.

Is Revolution Performance the same shop that is hosting the upcoming Springs Dyno Day?

That's what I get for posing at 6:35am on a Sunday....... I confused inertial with eddy current. Really don't know how I did that.

And yes, the upcoming dyno day is going to be held on an eddy current dyno.

Thanks tom I blame my post on you too sheesh next time don't post so early :P

I really think the best type of dyno to tune on is a dyno that simulates regular driving.

Congrats Rich...can't wait to get your feed back when it's up and running. I might be joining you next year...

But the two people that will be able to help for sure are Josh and Brandon. Make sure one (or both) are at your Dyno/tune runs...

Dyno/tune will be around tax time :) I'll put out advanced notice and try to get a mini-meet going for it.

You bastard......I actually ordered one back in November, but thanks to all of their delays, I found something else to spend the money on. Oh well, i guess the $1200 Uncle Sam will be hooking me up with can find its way into my car.....I hope.

We can definately tune that system.

We have tuned thousands (I'm not making that number up, I can show you our dyno logs) of cars ranging from 1920's street rods with blown EFI big blocks to 700whp Honda street cars. Have yet to hurt a motor too.

If you want to stop by the shop sometime and discuss we're more than happy to do so.

If you have any questions you think we could answer over e-mail: Info@revolutionsperformance.com
