Andyscums wrote:Try driving the brz. We got a couple in as demos and got to drive them, what a joke. From what I heard from Subaru, Subaru and scion worked together to release that new 2 door that scion did that looks IDENTICAL to the brz. I can only hope it isn't as slow. Its cool that it's RWD but why build a sports car, release it as your first "sports car" an not give it ANY power? What a disappointment

toyota has their version too. It was planned to be the exact same car just a different badge/interior differences and what not. i agree though they're slow for what was expected

i don't understand why two different companies would release the exact same car, seems like a branding nightmare...

It was a joint venture to design an inexpensive, balanced, rwd car. With the Toyota 86 heritage backing it, and strong similarities to mazdas mx5... It was never meant to be "fast" by any stretch of the term. It's about balance, rwd, 2 door, driving experience. Think Civic Si, Gti, MX5, etc. it's not a competitor to the ms3, evo, stu, 370, etc.

I think they succeeded. While more power would be fun, the chassis is really well balanced, and the amount of power would be really manageable when driven hard by a person of average or above average skill. Even stock, my MS3 had more power than it needed. It took really judicious throttle control to make it stick, especially in a corner. Very fun car, but I wouldn't be surprised if a BRZ could take it, especially in an autocross.

Oh yeah, ha ha. I think you referenced two different variations of 'volatile'. I don't doubt that diesel is less volatile than gasoline. I was referring to pricing-volatility. In my experience, doesn't matter if the world runs on diesel or not- when oil goes up, so does diesel.

Nevertheless, congrats on your new whip!

(Or possibly a smartcar)

How is this a downgrade lol? I'd have a Speed3 over any WRX any day. WRX is the most over-rated car in Colorado (esp. Boulder) by far.

Are you still looking to buy? My buddy has a Black 2011 Speed3 with 23K Miles on it. It's also got a few upgrades, but mostly it's stock. Still has 30K of warranty left on it. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm not, sorry. I picked up a TDI Golf a bit ago.
