Hello forum! My stupid Bose subwoofer has crapped out, unsurprisingly. I would love to take the opportunity to upgrade to something better however that essentially means ripping out all the Bose and replacing the whole system. I really don't have the cash for that right now.....

I'm wondering if anyone has a stock Bose sub laying around that they would part with....or any plug and play alternatives...

I've also got a pair of new Image Dynamics 6.5" component system I bought to put in the Speed3 but realized the Bose 2ohm bullcrap leads me back to having to replace the whole system....which I don't have the $$$ to do right now....

I'd be willing to buy the sub or trade the sub for the component set + $$ on your end.

Oh and I posted this under General Mazdaspeed vs the Audio thread because it's Mazdaspeed3 specific....feel free to move if you need to.

cheapest option (other than getting a stock replacement) would just to be to install a line out converter on the lines that run to your sub, and then install an aftermarket one. no need to gut the whole system that way.

Using the stock Bose amp or an aftermarket one? I heard that the stock bose amp doesn't have enough power to drive the sub....Another factor I'm taking into consideration is that I don't want to compromise my trunk space with a sub. I have a large dog that likes to travel with me sometimes....

if you can find one, there is a box that was made to fit in your jack hole in the hatch. fits a 10" sub. they come across the for sale section of MSF every once and a while. and the line out converter would just flip the signal wires to RCA, so you would have to have an aftermarket amp anyway.

Hahaha yes...barely. I can't believe they tried to pass 5 1/2" speaker as a subwoofer. I've always had 12's and this is quite a downgrade.

I would love to find one of those 10" sub enclosures but I have only seen them on back order for $350~

I guess the cheapest fix would be a factory sub but eBay wants $120 for one. Ridiculous.
