Left Mazdas but not for long

Postby PXRdriFT » Sun Feb 16, 2014 9:14

Despite selling the RX7 a year and a half ago, I couldn't stay away. Last May I picked up a 2000 NB so that I could track it. Something I didn't do a lot of with the Seven. Since a lot of Miatas seemed to be popping up, thought I'd share mine.

I picked it up from an older gentlemen in Denver. After signing the title, I called a Craigslist ad that was selling a hardtop. Picked it up on the way home. I was a little nervous driving from Denver to the Springs with only the front latches holding the top down but I didn't have much choice. Luckily, no incidents!

Here she is the day I got her before and after the hardtop.

First mods were the FM VMaxx Track kit and sway bar kit. Also, picked up the TRMotorsports C3M 15x9s with BFG Rivals.

Only thing left to do was track it! Signed up with two AutoX clubs in the area.

A run at today's AutoX. Still learning to drive the car.

Nice Miata! The 9" wide wheels look beefy to say the least!

I've really gotta get out there and join an autoX club or 2! If only I didn't work nights & weekends....

Do you still find yourself missing the RX-7?

Thanks, Chris. Been doing great! San Antonio isn't so bad. A lot of things to do with the family. Not a bad place to spend my last few years in the Air Force before I retire.

Get out there! It's a blast. I actually don't think about it much. I think its because I have something else that keeps me from thinking about it. I'm working to hit 1-2 AutoX per month so my mind will be on that most of the time. How can I get better?!

Any plans on where to live after retirement?

Must be nice to fit in a Miata and successfully compete at a much lower cost LOL. When are you doing a rotary swap? LOL

Glad to hear you're doing well. Are you still planning on moving back to C Springs?

The plan is to move back to the Springs. We still own our house out there.

Welcome back! Nice ride, and it looks like you're enjoying it. Hope to get mine out to some events this year, too.
