Next Car: 2015 GTI or 2015 WRX?

DSG Pros:

-More engaging when rolling. It's essentially two manual gearboxes, but without the possibility of missing a shift.

-Launch control that actually works and is generally faster than its manual counterpart.

-The use of real clutches (vs torque converter). They're generally more reliable.

-Faster shifts than otherwise humanly possible. Tests show VW's DSG can shift in as little as 8 milliseconds.

-More efficient than a CVT- lower drivetrain losses. The DSG generally has identical drivetrain losses to a manual. As such, its generally faster than its manual counterpart.

-VW's DSG has been around for a while and is also found in some very high horsepower supercars. As such, its generally viewed as much more robust.

DSG Cons:

-Expensive service intervals, required every 40k miles. They generally cost around $450 or so from what I understand.

-Limited gear ratios. The GTI "only" has 6 gears vs unlimited ratios for the CVT.

-The DSG takes a split second to fully engage from a slow rolling start. Almost identical feeling to someone slipping their clutch out in a manual from a stop. It can be a bit jerky at low speeds.
