Yes I can. So if I go on vacation I can turn the heat down but once I'm on my way back I can turn it back up before I get home.

I have a "new" old toy for the garage.
Panasonic Toughbook CF-29, Pentium M 1.2GHz, 768MB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive,Windows XP.
It isn't exactly fast but it will work great for the garage. It will do everything I need it for, Internet searches, PDF's, tuning, MS office, plus it is shock and water proof.

Sounds like a good garage set up. I really want to be able to stream youtube and look at references or DIY threads in the garage on a big screen so anybody could look at it at the same time. I'm a little worried about the durability of a television in that environment though. Sounds like your toughbook would be a solid option.

Just hook up an old tube TV to a computer in the garage. They work great in garage temps.
