Lol Eric. You should get one of those padded seats for your toilet like what old people use, help you from going numb. Yes can lights are the same as recessed lights.

I am going to go with LED lights. The actual recessed lights are the same and instead of using a trim kit and a bulb, I'll use something like this:

The upstairs hall I plan to go with 2 - 6" lights and the kitchen I'll have 5-6 - 4" lights.

Trust me, I'd love to have a padded and heated seat lol. But as it turns out, just having the higher level helps tremendously lol.

Those are cool lights! I might have to look into that myself. They're not that expensive either. Also, Lowe's has a sale on LED light bulbs until the end of the year. They're the Utilitech brand so I have no idea if they're good or not but I picked up 12 of them for about $20, and 60W LED bulbs seem to be a lot brighter than 60W standard or CFL. I'm going to go back and stock up.

Good to know about the sale. I really need to check that out.

I haven't posted in here for a while. I installed the 6" can lights in the upstairs hall. I haven't gotten to the Kitchen lights yet. I also plan to install four 4" cans in the living room.

I did install one LED shop light from Costco but I still need to get four more. I plan to do some garage cleanup this afternoon.

Most of my projects will end up on hold for a while because of the new baby on the way. Wife is taking time off and with one income, it will be tight. The only new project will be painting and setting up the baby's room. We find out what it is next week so at that point we can paint.

I pulled the old vanity in the half bath and installed the replacement from Ryan (shadow). I'm going to be pulling it to complete the tile install and the beadboard install. I just needed to get it out of the garage.



I also built a workbench in the garage and made some really good progress cleaning.

Not really a remodel project but it is something.

First time we have put three cars in the garage. The Saturn just barely fits because of the wood on the left side and the freezer.

Anyone who has seen my garages knows that this is a big deal. Last night was the first time the Saturn has spent a night in the garage since we bought it in 2007.

I'd love to be able to put all my cars in the garage. It would be cool if you had room for the truck too.

I got a small tool chest for Christmas https://www.channellockproducts.com/pro ... 6f2c000059 and I organized my tools over the weekend. It's nice to not have all my wrenches, etc just piled in a box.

I also moved two of my wall cabinets up 9" to clean the upright freezer. The garage is starting to look a lot cleaner. I'm hoping to get some more of the insulating and sheetrock done soon.

The newest addition to the house is a new furnace. Our old Armstrong is dying and we don't expect it to make it through the winter/spring. The furnace will be installed this coming Tuesday. No A/C right now (not in the budget) but we will be getting a whole house humidifier. This coming Friday, we will be having the ducts cleaned. Total cost for everything is about $6,000.

Also on the list is adding insulation into the attic (getting it from R30 to R45+) and finishing the insulation of the garage (nothing in the garage attic right now).

Insulation is nice. I think we need to have an energy analysis at our place, but I'm terrified of the results.

The PVC is the air and exhaust instead of the flue.
