run these through a color correction, and maybe increase the shadow a little, and they will be some good shots. :D

Some people have said something about BS when talking about me.....but I don't think it refers to my education.

not that its applicable to the thread, but I specialized in aquatic insects. It has been found that the insect diversity of streams is a good indicator of water quality/habitat quality. I worked on developing different approaches to using them as indicators. My senior thesis used a specific metal intolerant mayfly species' drift response to determine if there was a direct correlation to metal concentration. That study was published in 2006 (6 years after completed). My graduate thesis was met with some unfreindliness. It was aimed at eliminating the need for a trained entomologist to process samples and then calculate various biotic indices to figure out if the stream was contaminated or not. Can't really figure out why the entomological world didn't take too kindly to that one:huh::lol:

I am not very good with terrestrial stuff, but if given time and a dichotomous key, I can identify anything (unless it is a new species).

That's great, all-natural pollutant detection! I seem to remember Bear Grylls (Man vs. Wild) mentioning that if a pond/lake/stream has crayfish (i think) in it, then the water is somewhat safer to drink and not completely bad.

I was swimming in Sylvan Lake, Custer SD over the weekend and it was crawling with life, little fish everywhere, big fish everywhere, dragonfly's + larvae, algae and so on... must be pretty clean water.

I'm a big E.O. Wilson fan, if you ever want a good book check out "The Superorganism: The Beauty, Elegance, and Strangeness of Insect Societies" I read that last year and it was really interesting, more related to ant societies (his specialty).

GEo is probably one of the smartest people alive...I can't operate at his level. He has both left and right brain function. I totally lack the artistic/feelings side.

The fact that you recognize it, is a step in the right direction. =)

Really like what he did with his engine bay, though I would want to retain AC and other cozy features.

yeah the engine is right by my knee. Pretty amazing car. Granted, in stock form it isn't a horsepower beast, but it is built to handle a lot more without a lot of changes. I am ready to start messing with suspension though. Would love to eliminate some body roll, lower the center of gravity, and perhaps get a little quicker turn in. I have an idea of how to handle the first two. The last one is a different matter.

Looking forward to playing with it some...might spare a few minutes tonight to make some measurements (cosmetic/engine bay clean up).

PAt, thanks for offering to check out that Bumper. I would like to have it, but need to get rid of some bikes or other equipment first. If you know anyone that wants an AP2 bumper, that is cheap compared to others i have found. My prioritry list is AP2 tranny, then bumper. Hoping by the end of the month.

Car threw a CEL/MIL this morning. Actually seemed to stumble when it did, but didn't die. Seemed to drive fine with the light on (though it drives me nuts knowing it was there). I disconnected the battery when I got to the gym and let it sit for a while to reset the light. Didn't come back on when I drove to work. It threw the code really early in my drive (<300 yds from the house). It is a garaged car and it isn't that cold, so don't think it is temperature related. Will have to get a scan tool on it.

My RX8 would do that on some cold-ish mornings. Threw a CEL early in the drive. Usually, the next drive cycle, it would go out.

Cool weather and warm (from the garage) sensors can trigger a light if the ECM sees the fast temperature change as out of "range". My scan tool is available again.
