I may just hit the crown of a helmet on the bar with the cushions still on the seat. Pulling the cushions, I should be safe, I haven't tested yet.
My wife has been pretty understanding. The dilemma I've hit with it is that now, instead of a bunch of little purchases that have added up, it's time for big ticket items. Those are a little harder to be "understanding" on. Although we did actually have the discussion the other day. She thought I was ready to get rid of the car because I seemed bored with it and hadn't been doing much lately. I explained the $$ aspect, and her response was in the line of "oh well, we have to do what we have to do."

Nice that she's understanding. My wife is fairly understanding. We sat down a couple of weeks ago to discus the hail and paying the deductible plus having the cowl repainted. Working out paying for the $800 to do the work.

I bolted the R lip on last night. It was painted by the previous owner, and with it painted, and the black paint along the bottom of the rockers along the side of the car, it looks a little odd to me. I may paint/return it to black. The again, the Racing Beat Type II nose that's been on CL for well over a year might look good on there. Ha.

Installed the carpet today. I won't be painting for a while, so figured I might as well. With the latches on the soft top adjusted, I have a good seal as well and I'm not worried about leaks as much.
Lip bolted on. Sorry for the horrible angle with the sun. Prepare to go blind.
One random shot in the shade.

I don't think I mentioned it a while back, but I'm sorry to hear about the hail damage man, that's no bueno.... Were you planning on replacing the body panels once again, or just leaving them?
For now I'm leaving them. Either this winter or next I'll be doing bodywork/paint. I'm at 2 colors right now, staying red, or a color change to Ford's Tangerine Scream. The Ford color is in the lead as of today.

I see what you mean about it looking a bit off with the black side skirt. It looks pretty good from the front though! Honestly, if you hadn't mentioned it, I'm not sure I really would have noticed! If you were going to leave the car the same color, I would consider painting the side skirts and leaving the lip red... but, since you're going to paint the whole thing anyway, might as well just leave it until then.
Overall though, the car looks mean (for a Miata haha)! The wheels, roll bar and lip really change the character of the car.

Damnit, I really want to drop my Miata again, but then it'll be tough to get around in the snow and right now it's my only snow vehicle. I'm too lazy to try to mess with the damn coilovers to lower it now and raise it up in a few months. Plus, pretty soon I might be doing some delivery work with it so lowering it would limit me on getting in an out of certain apartment complexes with speed bumps and such.

Picked up a set of Willwoods tonight. Not sure when i'll get them on. If not this weekend, it'll be a couple of weeks before I can get to them. Just glad I was able to pick them up for a good price!

Swapped the brakes today. It's hot today! Yowsers. I've bled them three times now (plus a couple when I swapped pads last summer), and either I'm a complete idiot when it comes to bleeding, or I may need a new master. My brakes are awfully spongy. On this swap, I used a vacuum bleeder twice, then did the "old" method of having someone pump (which first time at all four corners going that route, no bubbles or anything.
New brakes, much larger! Pics tomorrow or something. Right now, beer is calling.
