Bumpers have been painted and emblem shaved on the winter/track bumper shown...I had plate holes and emblem holes shaved on summer bumper. Plan to fabricate a plate holder for a tow hook.

Me thinks the article is full of crap, but that might just be because I have a vested interest :)

I am guilty of quite a few things on that list and love it.

Working to getsome small things for the car to be ready for track use. Working on getting a speedo corrector for when the ap2 tranny goes in. Need to find a decent tow hook for at the track too. I don't want to rely on the oem.

The OEM one is fine. Just make sure you know that the track workers know where it is :)

I am missing a piece of my oem hook that extends it for use on the front bumper. Glad I looked.

I did procure the speedo corrector though. Just need to swap tranny and wire it in.

Thinking of just using a 1 size fits all front tow hook like the nrg one.

people don't care about car stuff here anyway. I'm finishing up something I fabricated and need to start fabricating something else. Wn't make me go any faster though, so I'm keeping my ricer rep alive and well:D

Really need to get that AP2 tranny in though. may/june looks like earliest possible time.

Also would like to check valve lash. Mr. Secondgen suggested you oversee said procedure Mr_chris. Reading the procedure, it appears straightforward, but an experienced set of hands and eyes would lend a lot of assurance when I button things back up.

Would love help on tranny.

the hardest part of a manual tranny install is stabbing it. It can be a PITA.

How would you suggest I get the car high enough? I have a pair of ramps, 4 jack stands, and a floorjack. Should I build large blocks of wood to get it even higher?

Also, i was planning to reuse my flywheel as the gen I have actually have good ones, so may need to have it ground. Thinking that might take some time so....not sure how that will work.

a big help when installing a trans is to jack the front of the engine up so that it pivots about the engine mounts. It makes joining the engine and trans much easier. You can use a jack and a block of wood against the oil pan or the front crank pulley if you're careful
