I like both of them. Probably like the 2nd one better, just not in bronze.

I prefer the Rota. Almost have the old-school minilite look to them, style-wise. Which matches the Miata perfectly!

While I'm a fan of the style of rim #2 more. I say go with the Rota for the 1st gen Miata. Just kinda "fits". Now, if you had an NC, I'd say go with the second rim. lol.

I got my rims in and installed and am having some mixed emotions. On one hand I think they look great and other times I am like, eh. The rims I originally wanted, I couldn't get the offset needed to fit my car so I found another that was very similar and quite a bit less. With the power I am putting down, I wanted to go with the width tire I have been running, a 225 but in a 16" rim a 225/45 was my the lowest profile I could get. The BFG G-Force tire was what I settled on and was able to get them for $125 a tire. The car does drive much smoother and is actually a noticeable difference and am not sure if it the tire or the additional weight. I would assume that with light weight tires and rims (like I had on the car) would allow every bump to be felt.

I know the pictures are bad, night photos on your phone never turn out but see what you thing. The other thing I think I don't like about the rim is the 2 step lip. It makes everything seem thick but does have a 2-1/2" lip and with the offset, the wheels stick out an additional 1/4 of an inch.

Those are the same tires i am running and I noticed a huge difference in drivability once I got them compared to my last pair of Yokahoma's. They hug the road a lot better and still go over bumps nicely, plus I haven't broken the rear tires loose as often, not saying I don't do it often just not every time I shift to second or whenever I accelerate out of a corner.

After a day of driving, they have reall grown on me. I can tell a difference in the acceleration due to the added weight but over all am pleased. Here are some new pics I was able to take.

I haven't posted up on my Miata in awhile and have made a few changes. I installed a set of Corbeau FX1 Racing seats, a AEM water/methanol kit and Momo shift nob.

The racing seat are great, I fit well in them and make you feel so connected to the car. They also make me sit a lot lower the seat and keep my heat below the roll bar (good thing because I am 6'3") .

The water/meth is amazing and am running it without a tune. My supercharger does not have an intercooler and refer to the kit as a chemical intercooler. The car pulls much harder, I gained about 1-1.5 lbs of boost, keeps the engine clean and much cooler when driven hard. I installed the kit the night before the CMZC day track day (I was the only Mazda in the group, thanks guys), I could run the car hard for 5-6 laps and the intake tube would still be cold to the touch. The car is almost done, just a break proportioning valve and there is not much left to do but drive.

Did you get the standard FX1 seats or the FX1 Pro? I'm looking for a set of standard FX1's for my FD but I'm worried about fitting in them. Do you mind me asking your height, weight and waist size and how comfortable you are in them? And do you think they have enough lean back angle so it doesn't feel like you're sitting straight up?

Better yet, hopefully I'll see you around at a meet or something and I can try sitting in them if you don't mind.

I'm a little "rounder" than Ron, heh, and I sat in them, in the passenger seat anyway. They are pretty comfortable even flying around the track. I can't really help with the height thing since you guys make me feel short (6'0"), but I'm ~235 with a 38" waist and they didn't feel too small for me. And during normal day-to-day driving you wouldn't be using the 4-point harness so there'd be a little more room.
