Doubtful. I mean, look at all the little asian women. They are lighter than you, at least a little. :D

Welp after a year the NT01s finally bit the dust after the last event. I had a set of BFG Sport comp2s lying around and threw them on to the wheels after getting the nittos removed.
Image

The BFGs are 195/55/15 on an 8in wheel. Knowing that not all 195s are created the same I went onto TRs site and confirmed the section width of these tires which were 7.7in wide. They fit perfectly on the wheels and now i'm getting the full potential of the tires. They aren't as grippy as the nittos but they will be my new daily's.

All future race rubber will go on 15x9s.

Cool. Once I get a few other things purchased, I think it's time to swap out the RS3s for some 205s. I was looking at the R1Rs.

Although these aren't the greatest tires, the response and handling is so much better on the 8in wheels compared to when I had these tires on the stock 6in wheels. Everything is more predictable and smooth.

I was bored and decided to make an impulse buy on a TDR header blanket. I already have the header wrapped in DEI titanium wrap, then decided to add this piece for added heat reduction.

After installing and driving around - a lot- I would pop the hood and the only radiant heat I could feel was from the engine itself. The blanket can be touched and not burn your hand. In fact the valve cover is way warmer now than the header area. I also have the intake covered with heat reflective tape, but now there is barely any appreciable heat when touch the intake box. I used an IR gun on the blanket and am getting an avg of 130F vs 400+ with the wrapped header. The intake box and pipe barely see 100F now, whereas it was 130-140F. My strut bar (not pictured) doesn't even burn my hand anymore after a long drive. Overall I am happy. I know it won't add HP, but it will definitely keep me from losing any especially after my 20min sessions.

Where did the heat go? Is it pushed out the exhaust then? Would you be able to measure the difference in exhaust temps?

Went to PPIR this weekend to test out my new addition to my HLT app. I know how OBD data that shows RPM,HP (doubt it's accurate). Overall I think I did ok - waiting for official results, but iirc only an S2K/ZR1/race crx were faster than me.

Prior to the event, I went to PPIR at ran the full CCW course configuration and destroyed my last set of good tires (BFG Rivals). So I had my 1+yr old BFG Sport Comp2 which are 340tw tires which are mounted on some 15x8 +25 wheels and figured I just go and have fun. Though they didn't have the overall grip of the Rivals, they still provided good feedback and control. I'll post overall results whenever they're published.

Interesting line at ~:30. Were you heading out to the other cones for a second there?

Great pace and rhythm through the cone slalom!

Picked up some new tires and thought I'd break them in. I also need to start bringing water/coolant with me. For the first time I saw my temp gauge go way above normal. My OBD was reading 220ish. I shut it down and luckily the WRL racers were there in their RVs with extra coolant/water to extend my fun.

Nice, what kind of tires did you end up going with? I can't wait to get back out at HPR...probably won't happen this month, though.
