Looks awesome man! Those brakes are HUGE!

On a somewhat related note, I actually plan on applying at Factory Five when I graduate from college next May. I believe the directors of Engineering and R&D at factory five racing both went to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute like I am, so if I get a job, I'll hook you up man :p as long as I get to see your 818 when it's finished of course!

I had a good solid day today and made some progress. I got the rear suspension put together and the only thing left to do on it is assemble the emergency drum brake to install the read brakes. I started putting my engine together and would say that i was able to get through about 50%. The bottom end is buttoned up, heads installed, water pump and a few other parts were swapped from the old block to the new 2.5 STI block. Next week I will finish buttoning it up and do the timing belt. Here are some pics.

Looking good. I've always wanted to build a Super 7 kit, but I'd be really tempted by this one if I had the spare cash.

Wasn't meaning to insult them. I have one in my wife's car ('08 Impreza 2.5i). They're just so different from most of the engines I've ever worked on, that's all.

The car is being built at Mustang Motorsports. I am friends with the owner and am trading services to rent some space. It is really nice to be able to have second set of eyes and to have someone to ask questions. The project continues to move forward. The engine is 85% done and simply need to do all then vacuum line and coolant lines than it s time to bolt the trans on and install. The sway bars, steering rack, rear brakes, front clip and radiator are all installed. No pics but will take some soon. My seats just came in and do have some pics.

Excuse the noob question, but it looks like you'll have to have really long coolant lines running all the way from the front to the back of the car to connect to that radiator? Is that how it's set up?

That is usually how that do it with water cooled mid and rear engines. It will have short rubber hoses connecting from the radiator to a hard line that goes under the car and short rubber hoses from the hard line to the engine.
