I'm sure all my bushings are terrible too with 200k+ on the chassis, but man this is not a job I want to tackle.

Do you have any vinyl to wrap that sourced fender?

Took me about an hour to get all of the rear bushings pressed out. I used a three jaw puller to push them through and once they got about halfway, a sharp tap with deadblow knocked them right out. I still haven't disassembled the front and won't until I have the rear back together. I'm in no hurry. I may wirebrush and respray the arms. Overall though, yes, it does suck removing bushings.

I painted the rx suspension parts with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Paint.

I'm very happy with the quality of the paint.

I was hoping to get to the front bushings this weekend, but a late evening on Saturday had me being lazy yesterday. I really want to get this project wrapped up, so I'll be doing some evening work this week. Once I get these and the steering rack bushings replaced, it's on to emptying out the box of random maintenance bits I need to install. Then it's time to stockpile parts again, ha.

Many, many thanks to Shadow for the kick in the a$$ and helping me get the front bushings done. It wasn't a terrible job, but an extra set of hands came in really handy. Now I need to get it over and get it aligned.

Next up for the Miata, fluids and hoses. While I still plan on a future V8 swap, it's not happening in the next year (or most likely even the next 2) so I might as well get things in order for the drivetrain.

I have racing seat/rollbar/harness envy. May as well throw lightweight wheels and super sticky tire envy too. Your car is screaming to go to the track. It deserves it.

Thanks again for your help!

Alignment scheduled for 9 am tomorrow. I'm hopeful to get the transmission and diff fluid changed either today or tomorrow. I should should do coolant/engine oil/ps and call it good, I'll then have refreshed all fluids in the car. That's a big ambitious for me, though. Ha!

Yeah! Miata aligned. I'll be driving into work tomorrow in the little car. Longest it'll have had a chance to go in a while. Next week my wife will be out of town for work, so I'll have garage time. I've already purchased the required fluids, so I'll be doing diff, tranny, engine oil, coolant. I've got a few coolant hoses to replace as well. After that, my parts stash will be drained, I need to restock.

Went for a short drive today (nothing exciting, as there isn't much nearby). I have to say, there are times I'm ready to dump the Miata. Just move on, as I feel bored. Then, I drive it. It really is a fun car to drive. The bushings have made it a little harsher, but that was not unexpected. It turns, stops, goes and I just have a smile when I'm driving it.

I'm going to swap the diff fluid this week, but may not do anything else. I won't drive a ton before winter hits, and when it does, I'm pulling the engine/tranny. Doesn't make much sense to swap fluids when I'll be draining them again 2 months later. I have found another fender, hopefully this one works out.

^^ Do it!

Also I feel the same way about my Miata. I doubt I'll ever get rid of this car unless I'm just really needing the parking space on the street or something. But even in not the best shape it still is really fun to drive and I have a blast with it even though it is dreadfully slow.
