Mine has lived in Florida and Maryland, but luckily what little rust it has is just on body panels. Haven't had much trouble with getting bolts loose, other than the giant wheel hub bolts, which I ended up paying a shop to do after I threw my back out trying so hard to get the damn thing loose, lol.

Had to replace one of the calipers on mine because it was leaking, and eventually the master cylinder needed to be replaced as well because it was leaking pretty badly.

Man, I'm glad this is a Colorado/Oklahoma car. Things not being rusted to hell sure make it a lot easier to work on.

No rust is nice. Be kind to yourself and use antisieze as you do work too. Not that you didn't know that. I'm going to be ordering pads shortly and my remaining tranny swap needs.( tomorrow)

I can't believe you broke a caliper bolt...I must be some sort of wussy.

I didn't break the bolt, it had been broken. All is well now. Fronts are on, now on to the rears.

Picked up a couple of items at the junkyard today...battery tray/tie down assembly and the plastic windshield cowl piece, as well as a few clamps/etc. $14. Hopefully a few more pop down the road for some other minor things. The one at LKQ on Federal was pretty darn picked over.

Replaced the valve cover gasket/cam angle sensor o ring. The gasket wasn't in terrible shape, but the o-ring was completely shot, hard as a rock and flattened out. Whoever but on the valve cover and CAS definitely over tightened. Hopefully, I've resolved a couple of my leaks.

Edit: Looks like the leaks are gone. Woo! Now, it's fixing a few other minor items and the Miata will reach daily driver status for the summer and the Tundra will get driven a bit less.

Sweet. I should probably check those same seals on my car. I haven't really noticed any leaking but I'm sure they could use replacing. I have a valve cover gasket sitting downstairs in my box o'parts for doing the whole water pump/timing belt job whenever that finally becomes necessary.

Got the vacuum hoses, shift boots, and window regulator today. Already took care of everything except the regulator. That will be done this weekend, hopefully along with the shocks. Just took it out, boy, what a difference in noise/heat reduction, as well as better shifting. Woo. New air filter went on as well.

Next things to order...more hoses, plugs, fluids. General maintenance stuff.

Got the regulator replaced with no problems at all. Did a foamectomy on the driver's seat too (removed seat foam). Nice to have a passenger side window the will roll down!

I never saw the benefit to doing a foamectomy, I guess unless you're just too tall and hitting your head on the top frame all the time. Luckily I'm not quite that tall and even though I can sometimes look like a circus monkey getting in an out of the thing, I still fit just fine without having to modify anything.

how much foam is removed in a foamectomy? is the seat still comfortable?
