SCCA?

Anyone do anything with the SCCA here in Colorado? I was just looking at the Solo2 stuff going on at World Arena in the Springs next month. I've never been, or done anything like it. Noticed quite a few Miatas, with a couple of RX-7s and Proteges thrown in the mix as well.

While I haven't done anything with the SCCA in Colorado, I was the regional chairman for the Solo department in the Wichita (Kansas) Region SCCA for 2 seasons. This next season, I would like to subject the Slo-tege to some mile high autoxing.

Here's my car doing some driftorios:

Here's a boring one of me forging the "river":

Any particular questions?

I was just curious, more than anything. I'm really interested in doing some events with the RX-8. I've never tracked anything before, so it's something I want to try. I want to start playing, and the street is no place for that!

Agreed.

NASA is also fairly active along the front range. While autoxing is fun, doing track days in MORE fun.

And you get more miles per dollar. However, I need a roll bar, and my helmet finally expired.

Just to clarify- only convertibles need roll bars for track events. Although, I have shared the track in the past with convertibles that didn't have a roll bar.

Autoxing is still a great way to get your feet wet though.

I don't know when they are posting (or have posted) the 2008 schedule, but maybe a possible meet?

So...I guess registering for the Mazdaspeed motorsports program isn't good if you want to keep your warranty.

All suggested modifications and recommendations are intended solely for use on vehicles participating in off-highway competition events. Purchaser acknowledges that all Mazda vehicle warranties are voided if the vehicle is used in any Competition events. The purchaser accepts all responsibility for modifications to said vehicle(s) and all potential risks
