I'll be going. Not going to drive the course but it will be fun to watch.

It does seem to be a sea of cones and harder to see in a video. But when driving it really is not that bad. The club lays down lines (flour, I think) so you can actually tell where your are "supposed" to be going. Also if you register as a novice, you can go on as may rides as you wish, so you can "learn faster". I used to do this 30 years ago, this weekend will be my second race since then (my first was a couple months ago). I was worried that I would not be able to learn the course in time to drive. Plus if you work the course before your chance to drive, you get real familiar with the problem spots on the track. At least come out to watch and ride, I'll bet the next time you'll race.

I hope the parking lot is nice and cleared off. If there's the slightest bit of snow or ice I won't be driving. Apparently someone drove by and said it was full of untouched powder. Come on sun do your thing.

If anyone wants to come and not drive, you can hang with me. I'll have a hookah there so I have something to do and some blankets to stay warm with.

How I do the course walks is that I walk it until I can run through the course in my mind with my eyes closed. That works really well for me.

Actually, I think the threat of water on the course makes things a bit more interesting. I think most clubs put on a race rain or shine. Not saying ice would be a great idea, but it is cool to have variety.

I think I'm gonna ask to ride along in the other 8's there so I can see at what speeds they take the corners and slalom.

By my count there will be three RX8's at the race, according to the entry list.

I'd get lost and turn off the course and the FD would get punted by another moving car into a ditch. Mark my words....

nearest ditch is VERY far away from the pad (100'+), would be an impressive accomplishment ;)
