Well, it looks like I'll be watching my kiddo in the morning (wasn't anticipated), and won't be able to make it to this one. :(

I won't lie, I'm pretty bummed out, as the Miata is finally ready to track, and I was looking forward to pitching it around cones this weekend. :(

Oh well, there's always next time. Have a good one guys!

Had a great time today and was everything I expected it to be. I ended only being able to participate in the first event because I was under some time constraints due to Mothers Day (was hoping the event would move a little faster). Was disappointed but there is always the next event.

Car did well, other than a heavy right foot and some over steer. I had three goal for today and meet all three.

1. Don't hit a cone
2. Don't spin out
3. Get faster every run

What a blast!!!! Special that to Ecam for taking the time to show me the ropes and to his daughter for the awesome driving tips. I would have never though I would have taken advice from a 16 year old but she was pretty sharp.

Here is a video of my last and fasted run. I think I ended up 8th in my class running against some highly modded cars; STI's, Evo's and TT's. All guys who have are serious about Auto Cross.

Oh nice! Looks like it was a fun track layout. I really like that front-range airport location, they've got a nice pile of asphalt to use as a canvas. :D

Amanda is only 15 and said you did a great job. Good call to leave. With a few delays in heat 1 it lasted longer than my first guess. We left after my work assignment in heat two and made I-70 at 5 p.m! My guess is last heat finished about 6-6:30. L-O-N-G day.

I didn't get home until 8:30 yesterday, but it was totally worth it.

Still riding high on a class win and a second place finish. Both were the first times I'd ever done that.

3 consecutive DNF's in the morning due to a stupid mistake by me for thinking 1 solemn was an option. took the wrong entry each time.
in the afternoon my best time was a 52.xxx clean run (i believe) I just don't have the tires or suspension to keep up with the rest of ES.

Yeah. That's how I was when my GXL was in ES. So I kinda gave up being "competitive" and had myself get better for myself. I think that is what will happen if/when I autoX the 'vert.

Atleast you got better in the afternoon :)
