I wish that I would have seen this earlier. I've not been on the site in awhile. :(

Good ideas and points, we welcome input from "fresh eyes" as any group tends to get stuck in the "this is how we've always done it" rut.

We've had very little trouble with stuff walking off, even when we used sites with far more public traffic nearby. I suppose someone could take advantage, but given how social our group is, they may get caught in the act.

Separate parking areas for paddock and spectators- Again, hasn't been an issue, would just add "one more thing" to set up and organization (and many of us wear multiple hats already), and we like newcomers to be part of the action as much as possible anyway. The only reason we have the pre-grid area is to gather all the cars for the next heat in one place for tech inspection, otherwise we wouldn't even have a pre-grid.

Had a great time this weekend. It is always from to go through your car around and hang out with great people. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't see or experienced Auto X to come out to watch & ride. Anyone can do it in almost any car.

Here is the video of two runs.

Sounds good to me.

Your reply reminded me of something else I enjoyed. I really like that participants actually have to help out. Even though I only rode, I enjoyed "working" in one of the corners for the 2nd heat even though i didn't need to (I was hanging out with coloskydiver). It was a great way to continue experiencing the action up close and to see how different drivers negotiated the course.

I'm hoping that my schedule allows me to participate in February, but we'll see.

Nice videos Ron. How I miss AutoX. One year ago there were massive ice banks to cushion you if you went off course.

From an outsiders/absolute new persons perspective it was amazing. The variety of cars there really made the point that these events are more about the driving and fun than anything else. The drivers/people were all very friendly. The event flowed seemlessly and there were no issues with timing that I was aware of.

I was very impressed.

Just to throw some constructive criticism out there that you more active types may push forward, spectator parking could be marked. This would keep areas that drivers dropped their extra gear at away from others and prevent potential issues.

I'm planning to give one a go in the future.
Glad you had a good time! Come on out anytime you like! If there's anything I can do to help get started, just let me know! (My contact Info is all on RMSolo's website

I can't make it in February, but hopefully can make the event in March (assuming there is one). I'm planning on driving the next time though :)
