Family obligations. While you may have a 14 month old son, I have a 28 month old daughter AND a 9 month old daugther. And a wife who generally has ZERO interest in anything car related. So I have to pick and choose my car events wisely- like dyno meets and tracks days.

as for this event I'm going to have to be out, I dont think it would be much fun with a SUV/Crossover thingy. lol.. But I will probably show up to take pictures and such.

I can't remember the rules (SCCA) for helmets. A Snell 95 would be pushing it for legality. I think a Snell 95 is still good until 2010 for Solo competition, but tracks may or may not go by SCCA helmet rules.

And I've run at road courses with plenty of Miatas that didn't have roll bars....... but some tracks still require any convertible to have a roll bar no matter what.
