Postby milehighspeed3 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:14

I'm headed to High Plains on Friday the 16th for the 1pm to 5pm session.

I'll be in my cosmic blue speed3, say hello if anyone is out there...

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive it.

I had a great time, the weather was perfect. I was really impressed with High Plains, I've spent some time up at the State Patrol track and HP blows that track away. The track was is good condition with everything marked and the changes between groups went smoothly.

I ran in the "slow" group, as the "fast" group had 3 GT-R's and a bunch of vettes and Porsches. I was probably about mid pack in the slow group, passed a few and got passed by some. I couldn't keep up with the STI's, Z06 vette, or the M3 that was in my group. I had no trouble with the S2000's, Acura TL, like a 1979 Datsun and some other stuff. Probably closest was a mid to heavy modified Mustang GT, I had him but not sure if it was the car or my driving, that put me over the top. There was another Mustang GT, which I toar up.

Car ran solid, no problems. It took a few laps to get a good feel for the lines. I was the only Mazda out there and I don't remember seeing another FWD. I was parked next to the STI's and I think most everyone thought it was a Subie hatchback or "is that Mazdaspeed" and "wow I didn't know they were that fast"

I will be back several times next year!

During the down time between sessions, I walked around and got to see some sweet rides. Bellalyssa, what were they driving?
