Saturday 27 Oct. Anyone interested in the afternoon session at high Plains? I believe they're running the North course config.

I am desperate to put the MS3 back on track. Sadly I need new tires for the track. Time to save the money.

Not sure my tires would like the 40 degree temps on Saturday. I'll definitely be out there a couple times next summer though.

Went back and looked at my logs and I ran a 2:18.094 best, but I was still like 2 seconds behind Ron(coloskydiver)'s supercharged V8 Miata. I really need to do my suspension and then I think with some more practice I might be able to keep up with him. Especially since I was on almost dead factory tires last time too. Not sure full suspension is in the cards for next year though. We'll have to see.

No excuses erod :P I'll be taking R1Rs out there. If it gets to a high 50s as forecasted the tires will be good especially after a warm up lap or two (unless you guys are using R-comps).

Either way should be a good time. See you there if you change your mind.

have fun. I investigated some roll bars quickly today. Not sure I will ever install one.

Do you daily drive your miata?

I go back n forth with my subie depending on the weather. Also, i'm quite certain you don't need a rollbar in the S2k for High Plains open trackdays.

"Convertibles MUST have occupant rollover protection installed immediately behind the driver’s seat."

http://www.highplainsraceway.com/pdf/HPR-Lapping-Day-Policies.pdf

Unless they don't actually enforce that.

I think they enforce it for miata's and similar verts like it in design. I've been twice and seen a few S2k's and M Coupes out. I asked and they told me the manager said the stock hoops(style bars) were sufficient *shrug*

One of my vids has footage of one of the S2k's and an M Coupe on it. I will call tomorrow for due diligence. I would not want to be spreading misinformation or hearsay. Plus one day I'll prolly own an S2k so this is good for future knowledge.

I gave high plains a call and ask specifically about S2000s factory hoop and I got the reply of "they're fine" twice.
