A few of those shows haven't even gotten their sea-legs yet. You can't put a rookie into the Hall of Fame, sigh.

Two and a Half Men!? Come...on...

Which shows haven't gotten their sea-legs yet? All of those series have had at least 4 seasons, except Arrested Development that only had 3 seasons and is possibly the greatest 3 season span of any TV show in history. It's one of my favorite shows, but there are a couple individual characters I like more, like Hank Moody, who cracks me up with almost every word that comes out of his mouth.

Yes, Eric, it basically boils down to me liking the writing lol. And each actor's portrayal of that writer's character.

And I never said Two and a Half Men was one of the greatest shows, just that I love Berta. It's a small part but she is always funny.

As for it not really being a good list of "all-time" characters, for me personally I prefer more current TV (as in 1990 on) than anything pre-1990. Mostly because that's what I have watched as the shows were actually on the air. I have gone back and watched older shows too, but they don't have the same appeal to me as shows that I watched during their actual run.

I'm not trying to make some objective list that encompasses everyone else's tastes, just my own personal list of favorites. I'm not trying to say everyone has to like my list. If you have your own list of favorites, post them up. It's fun.

My All-Time consists on the 1980's and up. TV shows are harder for me to enjoy the older they are vs movies. Movies don't seem to get dated as quickly as TV shows.

Dr. Heathcliff 'Cliff' Huxtable - The Cosby Show
Bobby Donnell - The Practice
Sam Beckett - Quantum Leap
Will Smith - Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Jack McCoy - Law & Order
Michael Westen - Burn Notice
BA Baracus - A-Team
Sam Malone - Cheers
Al Bundy - Married With Children
Angus MacGyver - MacGyver

Nice list, Operator. The A-Team and MacGyver were awesome shows with some unique characters. And Sam Malone, Cliff Huxtable, and Al Bundy were great characters too.

Re: Sea Legs.... I dunno, it just seems like some of those shows haven't received the notariety that a "best of all time" should. That being said, Arrested Development was awesome...ended before its time.

It's not necessarily a bad list- it just didn't seem as though as much thought was put into it, as should of been is all...

You're right, I threw it together in about a half hour. Maybe I should have called it Top 10 TV Characters since 1990, lol.

When are you going to post your list anyway?

Oh I hear ya dude... It's a pretty good list, I'm not saying I'd have any miraculous discoveries in mine, ha ha.

Me? A list? Hmmm...
