Yesterday afternoon after work I watched this group called Bikes Over Baghdad. They are a group of X-Games guys that come over here to do tricks on their bikes for us. It was AWESOME! I took some video yesterday, but here are some videos from youtube...

Does the AF dictate the activities you can participate in? I hate being profiled, but then again, I am a middle aged white male that likes cars and sports, so my profile isn't too bad. (honestly, it would bother me to know that the AF doesn't allow our serviceman to do as they please on their own time or that they may incurr severe consequences if they become injured on their free time doing "extreme" activities...heck, flying a bike seems like it should fit well with the AF and there shouldn't be any rockets fired at you).
Well, I intend to start riding more park and DJ this fall/winter, so if the mood strikes you, I'll try to show you around the park/trails. I ride it on a mtb that was designed for such things, so it feels more stable, especially for taller guys. (not that I am tall). It is a fully rigid bike, so it will demand that you learn to ride "smoothly".
BTW, Escamillia was a BA when I first started riding 20" about 18 years ago. The fact that he is still throwing down after that long is amazing!

Oh I didn't mean to make it sound like that haha. You CAN get in trouble if you hurt yourself, but it's not very common. Just depends on if your superiors feel like being pricks haha. When I first joined, I knew of someone who got hurt playing on the unit softball team, and they gave her paperwork. I've heard of others getting paperwork for getting a sunburn LOL, but it's not very common. I'm just saying that these days, with the regulations that go along with PT and PT scores, if you're on a profile for too long they will let you go. And those regulations are getting more restrictive. I think if they knew some of the stuff I like doing with cars, they might have a problem haha. We have to get briefings before we do high risk activities, like auto racing, skydiving, etc. It's just to cover their ### in case something happens, kinda like "we told him not to do it" lol.
That's only a small part of the reason I don't ride much HAHA. Truthfully, while I don't want to get hurt, it's more because I'm either doing something else like working on the car, I forget about things like this that I want to do, or I just don't feel like being active LOL. I only went trail riding with Simon once, and that's partly because my bike sucks compared to his and he and his friend were leaving me in the dust haha. If I get a nicer mountain bike, I'll definitely be down to go. I had a lot of fun, but only going downhill haha.
And I have always wanted to do stuff like these guys do, jumps and tricks and all that, but I'm not sure I'd learn quick enough for my liking, and also all the broken bones that go along with learning...I'm not really about all that haha.
Hell I don't even play basketball that much anymore because I seem to get hurt just about every time I play, and it takes me forever to recover anymore, and basketball was my LIFE growing up lol.
I didn't realize Escamilla had been riding for that long. I never heard of him back then. I did follow Dave Mirra a bit though, and I find it funny that now he's racing cars haha.
