I`m Batman wrote:You won't be able to get 20 rounders in the future either. New law effective July 1st will BAN anything more that 15 and anything that is readily convertible... which can be taken in anyway they want. Anything with removable floor plate for easy cleaning can be ban also if they choose, even if it's under 15. That's basically over 95% of the mags out there. So, you can go with aluminum 10 rounders if you can find them. Even that might be ban too.

Very well put Sir. We all know this was never about "30 round mags" or "public safety"

Now, where'd my guns and bible run off to?...

That means that my new 5 rounds shotgun can/will be ban too because my shot shell tube has a removable cap at the end for cleaning the internals (as MOST 90%+ shotguns do). Which is "readily convertible".

They amended it because that argument. It's something like "shotgun magazine tube cannot exceed xyz total length" instead of a round count.

Doesn't matter though. If you own any 30 round mag, you are essentially set. There's nothing stopping anyone from buying from out of state as mags aren't serialized. Just go grab some fireworks and pmags then head back ;)

Mmmmmm...guns and fireworks. Add in a bunch of watermelons to destroy and you've got the makings of a great Sunday afternoon.

Did they amend the whole 'readily convertible' thing or just the shotgun part?

Just the shotgun part. In all their great wisdom, they still have the wording "readily adaptable" in there. So any mag with a floor plate could be interpreted as illegal by a police officer at their discretion.

Building this ar is going to be painstaking. Picking out parts and actually paying for them more than the actual build. PSA upper parts kit on sale for 29.99, but not sure if I will get a stripped or complete upper.

That's only if you get a stripped upper receiver then you would need those parts. If you get an upper receiver with barrel then they would come with it. Depends on how far you want to go, I guess.

Leaning towards a complete upper. They will likely have another sale in the future.

Now, if they put that str kit on sale (lower build kit),I would get in on that.

Lower should be delivered to ffl today.

PSA complete uppers are great. Their barrels are made by FN, which is one of the best. If you're planning to get the upper from PSA, they don't usually come with BCG (bolt carrier group) and charging handle. You may want to get BCG when they are available as well.

Let me know when you get your lower build kit. I can give you a hand putting it together if you need.

This guy, Colion Noir, has a ton of great videos on the subject of gun control. These aren't videos bashing the anti-gun community, just videos cutting through the anti-gun agenda. Take a look and see what you think.

Cheaper than dirt has some lake city and tulammo .223/5.56 ammo on sale. Is either of any quality? Just need for zombies. : D

I would stay away from Tula or any other Russian Steel case ammo if you want this gun/barrel to be/stay accurate. They are good enough for zombies but not accurate enough for parrie dogs. They will also wear out your barrel faster than brass ammo. That's why you need multiple ARs. So you can buy/shoot any ammo available. :)

Here's a lot more info about brass vs steel case ammo.

If you have just one AR and you want accuracy then stay away from steel.

Well, the article does say that the money saved from using cheap steel case ammo over time will pay for the replacement barrels and still cheaper than shooting brass with no barrel replacement....

But you won't be as accurate.
